LMN (Lifetime Movie Network)

Post by indrico »

I just found this on my cable, watched "The Governor's Wife" last night with Marilu Henner as killer and victim. They advertised a lot of cheesy-appearing movies, a lot of them made for TV and cable networks, with women killers and victims. Worth checking out! For instance Tuesday is "tainted love" night. :D

Where do you live? Have you just now discovered the Lifetime Network? It's been around at least 21 years.

"The Governor's Wife" also featured a scene of Marilu shooting an attractive female reporter in cold blood. (Too bad the victim was wearing pants.)

Can't attest much to the quality of Lifetime movies. They show basically 4 or 5 different movies, but remade over and over and over again. If it's a mystery/suspense-themed movie, you can bet your testies it will end with a fight over a gun or a knife, typically near a balcony or staircase. (If you want to see a clinic in cliches, watch a Lifetime movie!) However, these movies have been a rather fecund source of decent female death scenes.

I only recently got back on cable. Agreed the movies are riddled with cliches but that isn't why I watch these, mainly for the female victims. For good movies I go to TCM. :pc:

Some of the best female death scenes have come from really bad movies.

Agreed, but they are often difficult to find. That's why I love sites like these where you can exchange info and knowledge

It's still much more fun finding them on your own, in my opinion. I love sifting through VHS tapes at a used video or thrift store, searching for obscure movies from the 80's and 90's that may contain a gem of a female death scene.
