I have seen this topic come up in debates fairly often over the years. For some people it makes a VERY big difference in their purchase decisions (which of course matters a lot to the producers who make this material).

Eyes don't matter. Open, closed, partially lidded. Whatever seems right for the situation

On the tongue. closed mouth or just the tip, I really have doubts as to the realism of an overly extended tonge. And most actresses can't pull it off anyway.

I like it either way. Eyes open does a little more for me if you want to make things more eerie, but eyes closed works too. I also like seeing some tongue, but it's not 100% necessary, and really mostly appropriate in asphyx scenes and neck snaps and some poisonings, not really with stabbings or shootings

lifeless eyes like rolled up mostly or staring straight ahead into eternity in a scene I like. I prefer no tongue out. I did care for the tongue out like that in that frenzy strangle scene.

For my taste tongue out and eyes open (with crossed eyes possibly) are absolutely necessary
