Cinemagore is Back

Post by Nyghtfall »

I tried this last February and closed it a few weeks later after freaking out about security issues I was unfamiliar with. Now I'm a little older, a little wiser, and have learned some shit about protecting WordPress.

For those of you who are new to the community, I ran previous clip site called Cinemasphyxia for 19 years from 1999 to 2018. I hand-coded it with HTML before transitioning to WordPress in 2014. I closed it in 2018 because I was tired of running it and wanted to focus on creating original art.

Circumstances have changed since then.

Earlier this week, I replaced my video editor, Corel Video Studio, with a new solution I learned about called DaVinci Resolve. Unlike Corel, DaVinci doesn’t crash when editing transitions, offers more precise editing controls, and includes a preset that produces incredibly small MP4’s. It’s put the fun back into editing and I want to share that with you. I’ve got an SSD full of WMV’s created with Studio that I’m going to re-edit with DaVinci.

I’ve also really missed working with WordPress. Seriously. The software is awesome.
