Suffocation: Focus

I've expanded the site’s organizational structure by creating several new sub-categories for three of the main types of asphyxia – namely, Hanging, Strangling, and Suffocation. Now, instead of endlessly scrolling through archives of pages hoping to see something you like, or blindly clicking on titles in the Video Library, you can simply select your favorite method of hanging, strangling, or suffocation, and every relevant title will appear. For example, I’m a huge fan of lift-up hangings and stranglings. In fact, I prefer them. I know I’m not alone, so I created a sub-category just for us. :)

I considered creating sub-categories for Drowning, but I’ve never seen a movie or TV show use anything but water, so I figured there’s no point.

In other news, despite my best efforts to resist it, my 3D art addiction kicked in again. I’m done fighting it. As a visually oriented person, 3D art is the only medium through which I feel I can truly express myself. I just need to be mindful that it’s only a hobby to enjoy, and learn how to manage my frustrations.

Three months ago, DAZ 3D licensed new technology called Iray. Simply put, Iray uses nVidia-based video graphics cards to significantly boost render speeds by offloading much of the work normally done by the CPU. My initial reaction upon learning about it was to throw my hands in the air and take a break from 3D art. I was frustrated with the software I was using, and the whole industry. The last thing I wanted was to start learning how to use another render engine, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to help myself.

Last week, DAZ Studio 4.8 Pro was released, and… I… couldn’t… help myself… It just feels so damn good overcoming challenges, sharing original art, and getting feedback on it… So, I installed it two days ago…

I spent most of Thursday night, and much of Friday studying it all, and I am completely blown away. I completed my first project Friday afternoon, using an interior environment I bought four years ago. It’s called Baroque Grandeur, and took about 45 minutes to render.

I’m currently planning a new web site so people without deviantART accounts can easily view my fetish-related work. I’ll post the link when it’s ready.
