It just dawned on me to wonder... if FF gets 3 to 4 times more visitors then DS...
and is also ranked more then twice as high... ( 353,348 to 971,609 )
So... the only conclusion I guess I get form this is...
For some reason FF's members & visitors prefer to be the silent majority.

My take on these figures is that people now know where to come to get all of the information that they're looking for in a very organized site, as opposed to the mish-mash over at DS where all of the information drops off the first page very quickly and sinks to the bottom of the swamp, unless artificially bumped by the poster.

At FF, if you want to read video reviews on certain producers, they are very easy to find in the Candid Review forum. If you want to see the latest Producer releases, all of the current ones are on Page 1 of the Producers' Advertising forum, and you won't miss a release just because you don't check FF every day, like you have to with DS. There's also the Video and Image Share forum, which is very popular with those looking for mainstream clips or the very popular manips or artwork that is posted there. Plus there is the Pulped Fiction storyboard as well as the other sub-forums. Superheroine fans have their own sub-forum too.

So, in short, FF appears to be much more than simply a discussion board, although it certainly is that, but now it is the most popular information source in our community. If it isn't posted on FF, then it's probably not worth tracking down. If you want to know what's happening in our community, FF is a one-stop-shop for all of that vital information.

Anyone else have any thoughts on these numbers and what they mean?

Congratulations guys!

I think you are right Blue honey, the organized nature of FF has always been very appealing to me. But it goes far beyond that. I think a community place like FF thrives because of its spirit. I'm going to be restrained in my DS comments because there are many, many members that I adore there and respect utterly. But Geno has chosen to make the board's approach very narrow and very judgmental toward others. He has often stated that he sees other places in our community as "rivals", and isolates himself. I believe under it all he has a good heart. But our community is diverse and filled with amazing people, and I honestly think we gravitate toward positivity.

By comparison FF is a Shangri-La of openness and acceptance. Blue and G-Man, you are both sweet guys, and reach out to help others constantly. FF's character is so appealing in its reflection of that. As a woman I have never felt like an object here, or my opinions disregarded or condescended to...I've always been treated with utter respect and my contributions to threads about life and our fetish world have been received with gracious thoughtfulness.

So a hug and hearty round of applause to you. Number rankings and traffic are in the end a product of the good soul of a place, and yours is just splendid beyond words.

Thanks for the kind words, Grace. I agree that the spirit of the site has a lot to do with why people frequent it. Fetnoir, like FF, also has a very friendly and welcoming spirit. So, in time, your numbers should be up there too!

Hopefully, Geno, will come around and see other sites as fellow community sites and not as rivals. He does have a good heart.

FF forum is definitely my favorite public site over the years, and Blue has always treated me with kindness, fairness, and respect. He is also true to his fans and patrons. G-Man and Blue really are some great hosts and it shows. The looks are also my favorite of the forums, how can you lose when you open the page to several shots of Suzy, one of the if not the hottest woman to grace the screen in our fetish world. Congrats on whooping on Geno, I like that for sure.

Grace you are right, when I met Geno in person he was very friendly and he has a soft spot for wayward, and shelter less animals, and most people who are like that have a huge, soft heart. It must pain him to know that he gains and loses friends so frequently over the years, usually dealing with some flame war nonsense, or deleted post. I at least know here on FF when I post the thread will stop, because I rarely get replies. In fact I have coined myself the "thread stopper".

Here is the thing about web traffic that can be kinda grey area wisw. Website traffic assessment tools like Alexa can't review and rank a private site like fetnoir.com In fact all of our recordkeeping is available only to registered members of fetnoir.com

I know we have some impressive numbers, and I think that reflects directly on Grace X, and of course kelli(I miss her so much) for the successful numbers and visits. I think we took a great deal of things from FF in our model of respect and kindness, whilst not throttling anyone's posts, or deleting them because they are speaking freely, or disagreeing with the owner. That is obviously not the case because i let PKF post on my forum i own, because I feel like it is good to be open to competition, regardless of their overbearing number posts and constant "updates". You would never see that here or on DS because they would get shut down, but that studio loves to mess with my company, and that is totally fine because it doesn't make me out to be a desperate person, or company. lol

So, congrats to Blue and G man for making the best public forum a fetishist could ask for!

I appreciate you allowing my posts on your forum.

I am posting ads for 9-10 movies a week. It takes me 1 hour to prep a post (once a movie is edited which is 1-2 days) and another 15-20min to prep an ad. So, I am always posting ads because there is always something released. And, often I am behind, so I am sometimes clumping together several posts at once from movies released over days. I try to do them nightly when I see a new post from the studio, but sometimes clump them in an early morning post or when time allows---like during a render process.

In addition, I post these ads equally across several forums---the same exact ads. I don't post them on DS as often, because they don't have an ad section and it would create clutter---like what seems to be happening there now. However, I sometimes will put up an ad a couple times a month.

Typically, I am squeezing these posts in-between work moments or off-time moments. I rarely get to post the ads when I actually should be posting them, which is when I release the movie. And, the movies are released based on the schedule of our publisher, Tank Girl, which varies as her daily start time is flexible. And what she posts is based on the job queue, which is a management software program and the movies, as they come off editing, are typically posted in order of oldest production date to newest.

Given that, it would be really hard for me to target a release based on what someone else released. Also, typically, the movies released were shot 1-3 months prior and each release takes 1-2 days in editing. All the edits, in addition, are done based on custom submission date---oldest to newest, divided between 4 editors.

I understand your concerns and do remember when you and I decided that Todd from GF was waiting like a vulture to post. But, as you can see, there just is no time, nor do I know what movies will be queued until shortly before release, to do that. If I did have the time, it would be eagerly targeted toward additional family time or reading my book.
