100 Greatest Death Fetish Movies of All-Time

Everyone is aware of AFI's film list series where it counts down the greatest films in American movie history. I wonder if it would be possible for us, as fans, to come together and select what we consider the 100 greatest death fetish films of all-time. The first step would be to compile a list of nominees (AFI started with 400 nominees) and gradually cut the list down to 100.

I don't know how this process would work but any suggestions would be nice. With a little hard work we could get it done. I think it would be quite fun.

RebelYank started up a mirror thread on this topic over at FN (and one of your films was the first one nominated for the Top 100, Blue!) You know, there is probably a lot of interest in both lists... One of True Movies which we could assemble here by each of us listing our "Top Ten" and putting them into a rank order based on the number of different mentions. G-Man mentioned "The G.I. Executioner" and "Satan's Blade" a while ago, and I think a lot of us would agree that these two movies belong on any Top 100 list.

Then on one of the other sites, someone could assemble a list of Community Producers' products (without restrictions) through the same process. Ultimately, we'd develop a Top 100 through the mentions in individuals' Top Ten nominations....

Any interest?

Tommy, I think it is a great idea to work on compiling two lists (one from Hollywood, one from our community producers). I really am enthusiastic about RebelYank's original idea of honoring our own genre and our fabulous producers, but I like the idea of "we, the death fetish people" creating a list from Hollywood too.

I will absolutely volunteer to host the Community Producer discussion at FetNoir, as some of the flicks might have material outside the boundaries of Blue's guidelines for content here at FF. That's cool...every board has its own approach...but together we could cover any producer film. We could mirror at FN any comments from people here at FF who want to nominate/talk about community producer productions, and as our list grows we could start doing some of the data compilation you've mentioned, Tommy hon.

I actually adore the concept of doing this as a "joint community venture". That's the spirit!!

I have tried to base these choices on films that showed exceptional quality, were groundbreaking in their time, made a commitment to artistry, and in some way made an impact, had intensely memorable scenes, or raised the bar for death fetish themes in film.

One way to get a good list of the top 100 is I think kind-a what Blue suggested...
Members on this thread post their list of their 10 best movies, and if we can get 20 to 30 posts...
that would be 200 ~ 300 entries.
From there obviously any multi votes of a title would seem to be cause to put it higher on the list.
So members out there lets hear what you feel should be on your top ten list.
