Your first time....(?!)

Hi all.
No I don’t want details of your first sexual adventure, I just thought it would be a title to grab your attention!
What I would like to know was when and how you first came to the full realisation that you had a woman in peril / woman being murdered fetish.
For me it was reading a book, Comrades of War, by Sven Hassell. I’d bought it because it was a war story but the protaganists spend the first half of the novel in Hamburg, recovering from wounds. In that city a serial killer is raping women and strangling them with one of their own stockings. He also takes away their panties. There is one relatively detailed description of a murder that got me going, much to my surprise really.
And that was me. Before that most of my exposure was in the cinema on TV. A woman being murdered made me uncomfortable more than anything else but also fascinated me. But after Comrades of War, bring it on!
I would really like to hear about your “initiations.”
