Bloodline (1979) FYI: Two different versions of this film were released on DVD,
the full 117 minute version, and a TV edit with the money scene deleted. The only
DVD currently available is a Korean import. The video transfer is supposed to be
good, but I've been unable to find out if it's the 117 minute version.

I'll put the word out to my network of movie-collector friends. So there is a remote
possibility I'll be able to come up with screen caps of the scene in question. I doubt
that PR stills or lobby cards of this scene were ever produced.
As you probably remember, the release of "Bloodline" caused a minor uproar.

I'll post the search results in a week or two.

Al

P.S. I also seem to remember there were different theatrically released versions
of "Bloodline" for the US and European markets.

"Bloodline" IMDB page:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078879/?ref_=sr_6

The movie was a big-budget stinker. The controversy was over Audrey Hepburn
being involved in a movie that had a snuff film subplot. It had one brief strangulation
scene of which I only have a vague memory. If you want more plot details, read the IMDB
user reviews.

The movie was loosely based upon the book. The gist is a series of pro murders by strangulation while wearing a red ribbon. One body fished from river (scene). Two strangulations with visible cameraman and mysterious watcher. One strangulation is reprised in police review with Gerte Frobe.

One has to read the book to really understand the context.

I believe that either Showtime or HBO showed the original US version.

It was the last flick I saw in a Times Square theater before I dragged my
kids up to Vermont. A few years later, when we got our first VCR (a top-loader),
I rented "Bloodline." It turned out to be the edited version.

No joy re screen caps. The only copy I can have access to is
a VHS rip of the 109 minute version. Sorry.

If you wanna take a big chance, Amazon has the Korean-import
DVD for the outrageous price of $25, and it's unknown if it is
the 117 minute version.
