Hey Gang,

Well, I will be posting the last video update to my members site this Friday, or earlier. Then, the site will go into mothballs. I know... I know... you thought it already was, didn't you? Well, a couple of very smart members bought multiple 90 day memberships while they were still being offered, and, whether I have two members or 200 members, I will keep the members' site open. Well, the last membership ends shortly after this update and before the next scheduled one.

When my members site was active, and before this board was built, I regularly shared news and views, the views being in the form of editorials. I may re-post some of those editirials here for those of you who may be interested. I will also use this thread to keep you appraised of any new developments at Bluestone's Silk Videos.

This editorial was originally posted when my members' site first opened several years ago!

HOT BABES, PLEASE! SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED!

What is this strange attraction that people have to the seemingly opposing, but often linked, interests of sex and violence? James Bond is a great example of this connundrum. Agent 007 wouldn't seem complete without a gorgeous woman on one arm and a smoking gun in the other hand. My favourite 'Silk Stalkings' is another prime example. The women are always gorgeous, but the show revolves around murder investigations. More often than not, the most gorgeous babe is either the victim or the killer. Plain Janes seem to have no place in this fast-paced, rollercoaster world of action and adventure flicks.

Well, if it works for 007 and our 'Silk' detectives, why fight it? The adult viewer seems to crave just the right mixture of sex and violence, like a Bond martini... shaken, not stirred. By insisting that his vodka and gin martini be shaken, Bond forces the gin to be 'bruised', which results in a 'sharp' taste, avoided by conventional martini drinkers. In this highly unconventional manner, Bond adds a hint of violence to his pleasurable drink. In the same way, Bluestone's productions revolve around a beautiful babe, but violence is inserted into the mix to bring the viewer to the edge of his seat as the plot reaches its climax like a Hitchcock shower scene.



Please also note that both Bond and Silk feature gorgeous, but classy, young women, not cheap sluts and harlots. The 'Bluestone Video Club' is dedicated to bringing you exciting crime dramas that feature the most beautiful, classy and talented actresses available, and they won't be mere eye candy. They will be inserted into the action, front and center, as the suspense builds until it can't contain itself, exploding like 007's phallic weapon. I perceive that this is what my viewers want, so that is exactly what you will get here and on the Bluestone Video Productions Pay-Per-View Site!!!

THE BLONDE DHALIA!



It has been well over 40 years since Marilyn Monroe's death. Why then are we still fascinated by this beautiful blonde whose erotic body has been mouldering in the grave for nearly half a century? Marilyn's official website provides a clue. In Monroe's biography, her death is announced as follows:

"Sadly, in a shocking turn of events on the early morning of August 5, 1962, 36-year-old Marilyn died in her sleep at her Brentwood, California home. The world was stunned. Marilyn's vibrant spirit and beauty made it impossible to believe she was gone."

So it is with most vibrant, beautiful women who don't wither with old age, but die young and beautiful. It's hard to get one's mind around the fact that a gorgeous woman could be reduced to an ugly and decomposing corpse. Thus, our fascination with the death or destruction of beauty. We find it hard to take it all in, so we're drawn to it like a moth to flame.

"The Black Dahlia" is a movie that explores this same fascination. It has been marketed simply by informing the public that it is the tale of a beautiful actress who is brutally murdered. This seems enough of a teaser to sell the picture without further elaboration.



This website deals with these same issues. It features beautiful women murdered or slain in various scenarios. Like the real life story of Marilyn Monroe and the partially fictionalized screenplay of "The Black Dahlia", it allows the viewer to investigate this fascinating subject. Unlike the "Dahlia", this website deals with fantasy scenarios only. It does not ghoulishly explore the death of real people such as Marilyn Monroe.

This raises a second issue. Do people who are fascinated with the death of young, beautiful women actually want to see such women die in real life? My research indicates that the converse is true more often than not. I'm not saying that there aren't misogynists out there. It's just that most members of this site appreciate the beautiful actresses featured here, and would never want to see them harmed in real life. Their fantasy deaths allow the viewer to experience this taboo subject without anyone actually being harmed. Certainly, this is a much better method of coming to grips with the fascinating subject of female death than searching the Internet for bootlegged crime scene photos of actual murder victims, or searching out supposedly real snuff films (a topic for another day).

So, please enjoy these fantasized murder scenarios, secure in the knowledge that these lovely ladies (such as Suzi, Jessica, Meredith and Charlene) will be back time and again to grace the screen with their beauty and perform more Silk Stalking-esque death scenes for your viewing pleasure. Please join with me in wishing that they all live long and prosper.

Okay, here is the last editorial that I wrote for the Members' Site in or around December 2006. I guess I got too busy with other pursuits after that to continue these editorials, plus there was no members' forum where I could obtain feedback from the members. So, I didn't know whether they liked these editorials or not.



PULP FRICTION!

No, there isn't a typo in the title. Ever since it's introduction in the 1920's, pulp fiction has caused friction and controversy. The pulp magazines acquired their name from the cheap wood pulp paper upon which they were printed. These magazines were published through to the 1950's and covered various genres from detective to science fiction; however, they were best known for their thrilling, lurid and exploitative stories, and equally 'adult' cover art. The cover art helped to market the magazines, usually featuring scantily clad damsels in distress.


Jim McQuade, famous for his underground Misty comics, has painted the sample cover above, which illustrates all of the sex and violence elements of the early pulp magazines. One day, I'd love to produce such a magazine.

Often considered the genesis of comic books, the hero pulps introduced larger than life heroes, several of whom became enduring characters, such as Tarzan, Conan the Barbarian, Zorro, Buck Rogers, and The Shadow. When hero comics rose to prominence in the forties, The Shadow and Zorro inspired such vigilante heroes as Batman. The crime pulps inspired violent comics such as 'Crime Does Not Pay', which ended up paying the publishers big time!

Many people are not aware that the pulps produced such famous writers as Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Poul Anderson, Robert Bloch, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Robert E. Howard, H.P. Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith, and, of course, Mickey Spillane, to name just a few.

Spillane was the creator of Mike Hammer who has been featured in novels, movies, and television. The Mike Hammer TV series starring Stacy Keach features almost as many sexy babes as Silk Stalkings itself :) In my opinion, the most memorable Mike Hammer scene is from Spillane's first novel, "I, The Jury", in which a beautiful femme fatale is embracing him, ready to kill the unsuspecting private eye, when a gunshot sounds. The babe crumples as Hammer removes the smoking gun from his overcoat pocket. The dying babe has a very short conversation with Hammer:

"How c-could you?" she gasped.
I only had a moment before talking to a corpse, but I got it in.
"It was easy," I said.

As Spillane and his contemporaries continued to pen such fictional tales, a cadre of critics attacked him for the sexual and violent nature of his stories. At one point, he was even targeted of Dr. Fredric Wertham, the psychiatrist who denounced comic books in the 1950's, declaring that they were responsible for the corruption of America's youth. The pulps, their ancestors, were equally criticized. In order to save the comic book, the industry was forced to self-censor itself. Imaginative and thrilling comics such as the EC line, perhaps the comic book company that produced stories and art closest to the pulps, were forced to change their focus to humour mags such as 'Mad'. Batman also became a clown hero, with spin-off characters such as Batgirl, Batwoman, Bathound and Bat Mite driving a few more nails in the coffin of imaginative fiction.

Wertham's "Seduction of the Innocent" postulated that viewing sex and violence in the pulps and pulp-like comics would cause young, impressionable youth to act out these sexual and violent fantasies in real life. In effect, the 'good' doctor believed that reading pulp fiction would create a generation of juvenile delinquents. As far as this writer is concerned, Wertham was right about the juvenile and delinquent elements. His theory was juvenile, and he was delinquent in using his degree in psychiatry as a podium from which to preach his own moral code and force it on others. In effect, he was a dictator not unlike the one that the comic books of the forties so rightly vilified during the war years. As a kid, I played cops and robbers with toy guns, but when I grew up, surprisingly, I neither became a policeman, nor did I rob a bank. Wertham's theory remains unproven a half century later, and the pulps that he attempted to ban are still inspiring thrilling and exciting stories in every media available to modern society.

So, let us not be too quick to draw a connection between fantasy and reality. More often than not, fantasy is a necessary escape from reality, not a method of altering it. After a hard day at work, what would you rather do:

1. Watch a movie about a guy having a hard day at work?;
2. Read a book about a guy chained to his desk at work?; or,
3. Turn on the TV and watch an exciting show such as a Mike Hammer re-run, CSI, or 24?

Be careful. If you picked #3 you'll probably try to take the law into your own hands tomorrow :)

I couldn't post on DS where this was also raised, but I contacted Dalila and everything is fine with her and her site. She is still on hiatus with no updates while she settles into her new home in her new State. Hopefully, she will be back filming shortly

Yes, I think fondly of the members site too, but, in the end, I found it just too restrictive. It's amazing that I thought bi-monthly updates were restrictive when I now have been doing weekly updates for over a month and have videos already edited for release dates into the new year, but my life's circumstances change, and they will change again. If I wanted to take a hiatus, or had to take one like Dalila is currently in the midst of, I would be letting my members down. When I commit to 2 videos a month, I feel that I have to deliver, even if I'm in a hospital bed after shooting myself in the foot on a shoot (insert wild unbelievable rumour here for DS spies to take back to Geno, so that he can start a new post entitled, "Bluestone on Hiatus in Hospital ), but I digress.

Although, members got a super deal with the videos that were posted there, i.e. the Silk 'N Blood series, many complained because the specials, such as Tommygun's series and the collaborations with UKSG, were not posted there. That was another consideration.

I'd love to have a membership site again, but it would have to work for everyone, including me, and I just didn't see that as happening toward the end. Who knows. Maybe someday I will bring it back. Until then, this chamber of the Bluestone mansion is a nice place to hang out

Hey Gold,

This is Kelli's second Bluestone shoot. I think I posted some pics of her before, but have not yet edited any of her videos, except for the "Christmas Stalking" that I shot yesterday and that's already scheduled for release. Kelli is a friend of Meredith's. She has also modeled with Jessica. So they all got along well together. Kelli did a nude shooting and a stabbing in addition to the strangulation scene. More pics will have to wait until I've finished some more editing
