I mentioned this one before.
This is a safari film with one time big star Ann Sheridan as the greedy secretary of hateful and evil millionaire John Loder. She has been working for him with the hope that he will marry her, but no dice. "I can do better," he tells her with a typical rich guys graciousness. Loder has a weakling son, Jan Merlin, who hates his guts. Ann's fall back position is to marry the son. She then shoots daddy and frames Merlin. But no one can benefit from murder, so if Merlin is brought to trial he won't get the money and neither will Ann. So Merlin must also be offed before a trial. Amid all this, Ann has the hots for great white hunter David Ferrar, whose income isn't what it used to be since his last client ended up up lion chow after Dave turned tail and ran, abandoning the client. Don't be too hard on Ann. Her romantic options in this one weren't quite up to Errol in the old days.
A dull safari movie which plods a group of unlikeable characters through a convoluted story of hate, murder, and melodrama.
But Ann's demise at the end is notable. She is out in the wild trying to shoot Merlin. An enraged bull elephant charges out of the brush and stomps her to death on screen. We get to see a huge elephant foot come down on her stomach. Ann lingers long enough to confess to the local police inspector.
The reason I posted is this one is now on the internet and can be watched. I found it by typing in
"Woman and the Hunter 1957 to View"
I had to page down a bit but I found the entire movie under a place called ok.ru
I can't give you any more info as the writing is in Cyrillic, I think. And I don't have the means of bringing it over, but I thought I would give a head's up, as Ann Sheridan was a big, golden age star and some might be interested.

Re: Woman and the Hunter
I couldn't find the whole movie.
Wouldn't it be better to give us the URL?

My typewriter won't type Cyrillic. It is posted in the Cyrillic alphabet.
I'm sorry. I can't.
But I googled it on its title and year of release and got it, but I have to page down through quite a few entries to find it.
*well I just tried again and it didn't come up at first. I only got the 2 minute smoking bit.
Then I put in OK.RU after the title and year and the full movie pulled up.
I can't do better than this as the entry is in Cyrillic (or Greek or something) and I can't even read it let alone type it.

Not sure about other alphabets, but to copy a URL, all you have to do is swipe over the URL to highlight it, then right click and select COPY. Then PASTE it here in the posting window.

"all you have to do is swipe over the URL to highlight it, then right click and select copy. Then paste it here in the posting window."
I have talked to my son who knows a lot more about it than I. He told me, "Dad, you're system can't do any of that."
I do not have copy on my system.
I do not have a posting window in which to "paste" it.
I did and can still find this movie by googling after typing in the title and date and ok.ru
I just wanted to give a head's up. As you know, I stopped giving head's ups last year when folks started jumping on me to bring the movies over when I can't. I made an exception for this movie, but perhaps it is best not to make any more exceptions.

Re: Woman and the Hunter
What system do you have? Because just about all operating systems/computers have the ability to copy and paste things. After clicking and dragging your mouse over the words/characters to select them, on Windows computers, it's [ctrl]+C (pressed simultaneously) to copy, and [ctrl]+V to paste it wherever. Similarly, on Mac computers it's [Cmd ⌘]+C and [Cmd ⌘]+V.
