"Inside" (2007) knitting needle...

Post by indiefilmfan »

Ahhh, the old knitting needle to the neck trick..... gets 'em every time. Especially when it's your own mother, lol.

G-Man, I know this is usually your turf, so forgive me if you've already covered this one, but I was just watching this flick for the umteenth time, and man, it's as good as the first time I saw it! So I couldn't help but make a post about it quick in the chance it may enlighten a few horror fans who may not have seen it.

What a doosy this one is, especially the ending surprise! Anyway, here are some caps of that little scene, in case G-Man has not enlightened you all already:

For those who haven't seen this movie, I can't recommend it highly enough. The blood and gore is spectacular, and as an extreme horror connoisseur, I don't say that lightly. It takes a lot to impress me, and this flick did it.

The caps above are from the most tame death in the film, btw.

You could probably fill a kiddie pool with the blood they used to make this thing. As such, it should not be viewed by Tommygun, or other squeamish types who may feint at the sight of the crimson goodness. :excited: Cheers! - indie

LOL! Yes, indeed... Loved the knitting needle pics you posted, Indie...

G-Man has this incredible DVD collection. I'm just hoping that he's got this one squirreled away somewhere. I don't remember it myself from the old days, but your description raises my interest level, a lot!

As I'm a fan of the old stuff, it takes a lot to impress me nowadays. Give me Rob Bottin / Tom Savini special effects over modern CGI any day. But occasionally, a ringer comes along. "Inside" is one of them. And I shit you not when I say that the scene I posted above is the tamest part, lol. And I wasn't kidding about the kiddie pool worth of blood, either... :approve:

I just read a very detailed story-line/plot of what happens in the film.
Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inside_(2007_film)

And I watched a trailer : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm5mIdd57uk
Besides the knitting needle in the neck death...
it seems that there are no other female death scenes except being a whole lot of
blood and mayhem between between the priceable actress and her antagonist.
If I am wrong (about female death scenes) let me know.
And...Over-all... I never mentioned this before here... (or at least I do not think I have)
I generally do not like movie death or even mayhem scenes that involves pregnant women.
I guess I must have made a few exceptions over the years like... when the movie plot had
a victim known to be or said to be a few weeks pregnant.
What I am talking about is seeing women on screen who are playing and or displaying a
third trimester pregnancy getting hacked, stabbed or shot to death.
Anyway that's just me and like anyone else... I also have my quirks.

Actually, G-Man, I totally understand your feelings on this. Thanks for researching it!

Ahh, I'll keep that in mind for future reference, guys. It didn't even occur to me to mention it, because the entire plot of the film revolves around the pregnancy of the woman from the very beginning. And with the exception of the finale, the caps I showed above are indeed from the only female death. ;-)

The long and short of it is the 8 months pregnant girl's struggle for survival against the crazy stranger who has shown up and wants the baby...... badly.

It is really quite an incredible film, from a survival / horror standpoint, but if the whole pregnancy element is an issue for you, then you'd damn sure want to steer clear of this one. I won't even go into what transpires later in the film.

But for those who stick through it until the very end, you are rewarded with a visual roller coaster you will never forget! Including the moment it all gets made clear to you what is actually happening. I won't reveal any more than that, so as to not spoil it for those who read this and haven't seen it yet.

But indeed, if any film was not for the squeamish, this is it. If you were the type of rebel rouser to say..... roll up with a big screen on a flat bed and park in front of a group of abortion clinic protesters, this is what you'd want playing on a loop if you'd want them all to simultaneously have strokes...

But those that watched until the bitter end would scratch their heads and say "wait... whaaat...?" ;-)
