Everyone being "killing" should concentrate on making the scene as "sexy" as possible.
All that the directors do for the most part these days is to "dispose" of a character
in one way or another and that's hardly any "fun" at all.

Seconded. Death scenes are messy and gruesome in real life whilst in Hollywood strangulation take 10 seconds and is clean

I will start by saying I have zero interest in strangulation scenes, as they simply do nothing for me in any way. I'm only commenting on the subject because I am unfortunately very familiar with what would be "realistic."

This is just a guess on my part, but I can imagine a good number of "fetishists" would be turned off by watching a real strangulation. The body's built-in will to live is programmed stronger than most people think, and long after unconsciousness sets in, full pressure must be continually applied to deprive both the lungs and the brain of the fuel they need or it immediately resets the time frame, causing you to have to more or less start that clock once again.

I'm sure there are some that would find this fascinating to watch, but it's not fun to do, and it takes much longer than you think for the body to call it quits. Long after they "seem" to go out. And it takes more strength than you think to hold it that tight for that long. Again, it's not fun.

So that would make all those movie scenes considerably longer, and while certainly more macabre for those that are looking for it, I would frankly think it quite boring to have to sit and watch, from a time perspective. But then again, I'm not a fetishist. Just my thoughts.

Well said and explained, Indie... You're right, of course. Perhaps the right answer, at least for us, is something that is in between the two. Not quick and clean, as most often portrayed in mainstream, but enough pain and terror and legs kicking the skirt up high, and perhaps a bit of messiness, to make it more erotic for the fetish observer.

Thanks seconded. Frenzy is actually on the top five of favorite strangulation. Actually Hitcock wanted to have the victim drool a bit blood but the idea was scrapped. The choking of Kelly Hu in Friday the Thirteenth is also very sexy but I would loved to see drooling and maybe a bit leaking.

My thoughts too. Thanks
