Re: Obama's Nobel Peace Prize
I believe the topic was whether Obama deserved consideration for the Peace Prize after so few days in office, not how the president spends his time in leisure or working. PLease settle down and realize that he is probably much more busy then we realize.
PLease recognize each others opinion for what its worth and move on.

Gentlemen please
I know that we are not mindless idiots here and we discuss social issues, but really.
One of you really dislikes Obama and the other really likes him.
We all understand that.
Do you have to be at each other's throats over it?
Allow me to tell you a story:
I was living in Damascus as a little girl.
Our penthouse was bombed by the Israeli army.
Fortunately the bomb did NOT explode and we survived.
Now I am not going to blamed the Israelis and I am not going to blame the Syrians.
I am going to give credit to God for the miracle of that bomb not exploding.
That conflict however is what politics means to me.
It is an ugly destructive thing that causes people who are very nice and should like each other to be at each other's throats instead.
It's well known that Obama was given that award because of his world popularity last year and the promise of hope, not actual achievement. Even Obama admits that.
Whatever you opinion there is no reason for the two of you to fight with each other about it.
Baci and by that I mean kiss and make up
Now I have to go get killed by Debbie D

Re: Obama's Nobel Peace Prize
These questions were posted at the beginning of this thread. Earlier today Nightposter told me that I posted my thoughts on the appropriate thread. I was on topic and I responded to your questions with my views. And now elsullo follows me to another thread and attacks me once again for my views. Last time he attacked me as a racist and this time he attacked me with even more unsubstantiated and misleading claims. I am sick of his harrassment.kevin67 wrote:My question is; should we be proud of our president winning the Nobel peace prize or not? I also wonder, what was in the minds of the Nobel committee when they awarded this prize? Any thoughts on this?
To defend myself and support my views, here is proof that Obama refused to go to Berlin a month ago: Spiegel Online - Dateline: October 16, 2009
http://www.spiegel.de/international/wor ... 32,00.html
And last week, BEFORE that terrorist attacked the Army base, Obama made another lame excuse for not going: ABC News - Dateline: November 3, 2009
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch ... -wall.html
(And if elsullo really wants the golfing statistics, I can post all those news reports too.)
You asked if we should be proud of his award. I am not. Here is another President who was far more deserving: John Fitzgerald Kennedy told Berliners, "Ich bin ein Berliner."
Barak Hussein Obama in essence told them, "Ich bin beschäftigt" ("I'm busy") Funny thing though, he wasn't too busy to campaign there. He was just mad because he couldn't speak at the Brandenburg Gate. Not very Noble and not very Peaceful in my opinion.

Re: Obama's Nobel Peace Prize
I don't see anything in his latest post that I would classify as an attack or harassment. I think if you're going to participate in a thread about politics you should expect that someone may respond that is just as passionate from the opposite direction. You've posted some inflammatory things between these two threads (saying the president would post bail for someone that planted a nail bomb, for example) and I'd be pretty disappointed if someone hadn't challenged you on it.bellystabs wrote:And now elsullo follows me to another thread and attacks me once again for my views. Re: Obama's Nobel Peace Prize
I don't mind a lively or challenging debate at all. But after elsullo attacked me instead of the issues, I responded with absurd hyperbole in response to elsullo's preposterous analogy. In case you didn't read it, here is his sarcasm directed at me when I had not directed anything personal at him:BrianTK wrote:You've posted some inflammatory things between these two threads (saying the president would post bail for someone that planted a nail bomb, for example) and I'd be pretty disappointed if someone hadn't challenged you on it.
elsullo wrote:Gosh, bellystabs! Thanks for reminding us how President Obama has a middle name from African Muslim origins! How could we forget with heroes like you on patrol? I have a middle name from rebel Irish origins, so I must be a rabid terrorist in disguise too, right? Maybe I'll park a nail bomb under your porch? Ooooooo, we all so scaird........

However, historical time-lines and a President who appears to place political decisions over policy decisions seems to still be a viable issue.

Re: Obama's Nobel Peace Prize
Fair enough, he started it. I still don't feel like it's severe enough to label as harassment. I'll have to admit though, it's my experience that people that go out of their way to use the president's middle name in conversation just have a problem with him, and that looks like the conclusion that elsullo made too.
For the record, I don't care one way or the other if the president went to Germany. And I think that if he had, some of the same people would be bitching that he went to Germany when we still have so many problems to deal with here. Same with the olympics, if he hadn't tried, the right wingers would be talking about how much money hosting the olympics would pump into the economy, and he didn't even try to get them, he must not want America to recover.
I'm trying my best to not get roped into this discussion, I think if I unloaded with both barrels and expressed my views on politics and religion Bluestone would show me the exit...

Re: Obama's Nobel Peace Prize
Thanks for the concession. And for my part, labeling elsullo's sprited disagreement with me in this thread as an "attack" was a bit of exaggeration. I am still irritated at his allegations of racism which he has not publicly retracted so far.
Obviously I have issues with Obama and his policies and his incessant campaigning. As Nightposter told me, this is the appropriate thread to post them. That is why I said I don't believe he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize, and I like to add emphasis to my points.
Politics and religion are hot topics to begin with, but I am not trying to start a flame war in here. The flame warriors were banned a while back and I was happy to see them go.
In my 140+ posts, I have never broached any political or religious topics until the terrorist attacked the innocent army personnel and then Paul and others began commenting on it. I found this thread and I posted another opinion that is not unanimously accepted for some reason.
(Just kidding.)
Anyhow, since passions run deep on this topic, and since I have made a few of my many points on the questions at hand, I do not intend to post on it again unless engaged by others for further debate or discussion. I enjoy FF too much to be part any lingering ill-will.

I'm not prepared to show anyone the exit for stating his or her views on the hot button topics of politics and religion. This is a discussion forum after all, and, if there's interest in such topics, post away. I know tempers flared a little, but cooler heads prevailed, and I thank everyone for taking a step back and realizing that opposing views will be stated on a free speech board and must be respected. Unfortunately, we sometimes step a little over the line, and have to rein ourselves back in. I have actually been known to lose my temper over these hot button topics and actually use the F word at times... No, not that word!!! I meant 'Fudge'! It's a really bad word in Canada. We use it often in Quebec when the Royal family visits

Carry on, my friends! Except for Dalila. Go get yourself killed, girl!

For what it is worth, this thread was quiet and done with for twenty-nine days before bellystabs came to it to make a "probably" deliberately inflamatory post designed to annoy Obama fans. Like me. Then he accuses me of "following him" to a "new" thread to attack HIM. Hmmmmmmmmmm................
Oh, and as for Obama's golfing, he has gone golfing 24 times since he became President, usually with close advisors and probably "talking shop." That averages 2.7 times per month, maybe four hours at a time including travel. I think we can begrudge the guy a little time off every month, including a week's vacation last summer.
Now I realize everyone is sick of this little passion play, and I regret that. But I needed to get this off of my chest....................elsullo

That's a very fair observation, Elsullo; perhaps Bellystabs should have created a new thread.
Perhaps, then, you could also reconsider your accusation of racism. It's all too easy for some to throw the race card instead of articulately arguing policy disagreements.
Just sayin!

Re: Obama's Nobel Peace Prize
Shame on me for posting opposing views! I repent, elsullo! Let's hold hands and sing praises to our Lord and President, Barak Hussein Obama, with these very young, indoctrinated public school children... Chorus: "Mmm, mmm, mm!"

(It may take a few seconds to load, but I will wait for you so we can hold hands and sing.)
And to keep on topic: Obama doesn't even need a mere mortal Nobel Peace Prize, he has already been deified!
elsullo, Nightposter told me that you and he go back a long ways. You don't like my opinions, so go ask him if he told me this is the appropriate place for my views on Obama. Or ask the other moderators. Or ask Blue. While you're at it, ask them if there is a time limit for posting on any open thread. Unless I am mistaken, any open thread is available for posting. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Speaking of being wrong, and since you brought it up again, I knew you didn't have your facts straight about Obama's golfing. You missed that one by 500% the first time. But now I see you can't even quote me correctly. I did not call this a "new" thread, I called it "another" thread. You don't have to go to far to check that. Should I type slower for you next time?
But just to show you I don't hate all things about Obama, I did enjoy the very sexy Obama Girl clips! Those were clever and hot! We may never agree on any political issues, but I love Amber. And I just saw one where she appeals to our common interests in erotic FF girls. Just in case you didn't like my first clip, I posted a few Obama Girl clips for you... they are hot!

Re: Obama's Nobel Peace Prize
Elsullo, did you ever wonder why I never posted my views in this thread a month ago? I followed it for a while and I silently disagreed with everyone who thought Obama deserved the Nobel Peace Prize. If I had wanted to state my opposing views to you or anyone else, I could have done so back then. My views certainly haven’t changed during the past month. I simply chose not to do so. Like I wrote in response to BrianTK, politics and religion are hot topics, but I am not trying to start a flame war in here. I came here primarily for the treasure trove of erotic fantasies and the cordial and diverse atmosphere.elsullo wrote:For what it is worth, this thread was quiet and done with for twenty-nine days before bellystabs came to it . . .
The three stooges (geno, johnnyboy, and pennypaulie) were trying to destroy that atmosphere soon after I arrived last summer (I don’t know why it says I joined in 2008). Anyway, I jumped into that fray since they were disrupting the board and insulting and belittling anyone and everyone who disagreed with them. I am glad they are gone.
But I digress… I am posting this as an olive branch to you. If you care to look, (I don’t, so I may not be 100% correct) I have never posted anything political in here until this week. And prior to this week, I had posted about 140 times. The senseless massacre of innocent, unarmed men and women at the Army base got my blood boiling. And as you now know, I have some very opinionated views about some of the underlying issues.
However, I wasn’t attacking you when my opinion came bubbling to the surface the day I saw Paul’s thread. At the time, I didn’t even remember your Obama post from a month ago, and you hadn’t even posted on Paul's thread when I made my post. I was emotional along with many others in that post, and my post stirred up your emotions.
We don’t even know each other (as is the case in most anonymous boards like this) but I imagine you are a decent guy in real life, and I never had any reason to think otherwise in this virtual life we enjoy at FF. However, you may not think the same about me since you accused me of racism and you still have not retracted that accusation. And now you further accuse me of coming to this thread to make deliberately inflammatory posts designed to annoy Obama fans like you. Differing political views can be annoying, but being called a racist is far more inflammatory in my opinion. It certainly could change my view of you as a decent guy, and it absolutely prodded me to add a little more zing to my previous posts.
So here is my olive branch I am extending to you: I intend to chalk up your accusations to the "heat of the moment" and let them fall by the wayside. I hope you will do the same. That doesn’t mean we are all lovey-dovey and see eye to eye on politics, or anything for that matter -- except that Obama Girl is hot! (as are Dalila, and Evangeline, and Kelli, and all the lovely fatal females in FF) We could continue our tit-for-tat, but I would much rather spend my time ogling some lovely and bloody tit-and-ass instead.
So, metaphorically, the ball is in your court. And in case that is a mixed metaphor at this point, then let me rephrase it: The olive branch is in my hand and it is yours for the taking.
