I've always been a fan of asphyxiation and drowning was one of my favorite subsets of that fetish. But lately drowning has really been out there in front of all the other methods of death.

I love the numerous ways this can be portrayed:

Heavy weight tied to her then she's tossed into th water
She tied in an empty tub and it slowly fills
She is held/forced under by a killer
She accidentally drowns because she can't swim

And that's just a few ways that her life can be taken by drowning.

While I'm also a fan of shooting, beating, stabbing, and other blood producing methods, there's something about the clean kill of drowning that is a big turn on. The actress can put one of many different looks on her face, and she appears almost angelic as she softly floats. All one has to do is hoist her limp body out of the water, untie her bikini if she's not already nude, and she's ready for loving.

Does anyone else have a strong attraction to drowning scenes and pictures? If so, what does the girl look like? How is she dressed? Where does she drown and how?

Well I love drowning scenes Patrick but they have to be very particular ones. I prefer it where the heroine gets drowned in something small like (say) a bucket, sink or a small aquarium where just her head or face goes in and is held under by the perp. Lots of kicking, struggling and above all facial close-ups as she struggles and panics and tries not to breathe.
There are a few out there both in mainstream and also private producers but you have to look for them.

I thought most of us would have fairly specific fantasies in mind. You don't like her submerged, just drowned by force in shallow water. What about water boarding? Does she get that special treatment?

My favorite is a naked girl with large weight tied to one leg tossed into a swimming pool. This lets her kick and violently wave her arms trying to get to the surface. Another is her nude again but arms tied behind her back and her legs tied together. Her only movement to try to get out is jerking her knees and up and down. The hands tied behind the back give a great show of tits floating.

Water boarding? I didn't think that would appeal to me, but I've seen a couple of scenes in main-stream movies which have been really hot, not to mention wet...
Nope, have to admit my favourites are drowned by force in shallow water, with only head/facial emersion. However there are some fantastically good deep drownings out there like in The Legacy and also Sanctum

So far drownings havent hit my tastebuds yet but nothing like a wet and sexy character being offed. especially getting out of the shower or during.

Know where you're coming from Grace, but I always find this drowning demise a bit of a disappointment as we don't actually see her threshing around underwater and going limp, instead all that happens is that JB finds her body in the pool
Actually I have read somewhere that a more... 'meaty' death of Plenty O'Toole was actually filmed showing her going into the pool, but ended up on the cutting room floor and has been lost over the years

Oh joy the james bond fans. hehe. Im not a big fan of the bond flicks but some where cool to watch every now and then. But i could never put a horror twist on the theme. or even a erotic horror twist. Add it to my fantasy pallet. This is one of those topics I cant relate to. I have views on it but cant relate. Plus for me I cant find anything erotic with a drowning scene. Its like hanging. it feels too self type killing. Its like the water is the killer. No character to it.

But what if the perp was holding the heroine's head under the water? S urely that counts for something, Egeek?

I may not judge someone who has a drowning fetish. but for me anyways. its a turn off. It lacks something for me to even be a turn on. Even using words like sensual is a turn off to me for a scene. drowning etc. It takes away the terror for me. Others it may not. Another agree to disagree. Even if say one of my killer characters decided to drown their vics regardless if it was a turn on for them. They are evil in their actions. Not everything my characters do is considered a fetish or a turn on. Just a method to off his or her vic because its horror. Its the way I see it. So it does count for something. The black crane may shoot one of her vics. Its not really a turn on kill method for her or me. It is a little but not like strangling. However strangling may not be a turn on kill method for them. Sometimes when I write a story the turn on element I dont think about. I just think about the killer and his or her actions and the why and how. when I do watch a drowning scene I see it as horror and the method. But as sensual? Not in horror or erotic horror for me. the word sensual could describe how the killer may look. Beauty on the outside. sick and twisted in the inside. Like a demon type character.

Know where your coming from Egeek but I find drowning one hell of a turn on especially when it's in something small like a bucket or fishtank where only her head/face goes in. Doesn't necessarily mean that the perp doing the drowning actually has to be enjoying doing it, often it's just expedient to drown the female victim as it's the easiest/quickest way of killing her.
Sometimes though in movies like Fear/Holloween 2 or Class Reunion Massacre the drowning is deliberate as the killer is trying to make a point
