The bathroom scene in this clip, leading up to the attack, is a near shot-for-shot remake of the bathroom strangling in Brian de Palma's 1981 film, "Blow Out", starring John Lithgow. If I had a Top 5 list of my favorite mainstream asphyx scenes, that scene would be on it. I've fantasized about seeing a fetish-style remake of it for over 20 years now. Thanks to PKF Studios, that dream was finally realized. This is also my first ever paid custom video, and cost me $500. I bought the shoes at VictoriasSecret.com for another $70. As a foot fetishist, they were a crucial part of Alexandria's outfit. I love open-toe strappy stilettos, and scoured the web looking for a pair that was unbelievably sexy and inexpensive.

My fantasies always involve innocent, successful career women who happen to find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. My killers are usually dressed in black, wear a mask to conceal their identity, and gloves to avoid leaving any prints.

My script had Alexandria play a Reporter who was given exclusive access to the case of The Sunset Strangler; it starts at the tail end of a phone call to her boyfriend, after which we watch her casually switch out of her pumps and into her sandals. Then, while touching up her makeup in the ladies room of the news station where she works, she's attacked and garroted by the Strangler himself. Afterward, he carries her back to her desk where he slowly undresses and fondles her corpse, fucks her feet and finally her pussy. He then leaves her body to be found by her co-workers the next day.

I chose PKF because I've seen enough of their work and know John's commitment to his clients well enough to feel confident I would get my money's worth. I wasn't sure what I wanted to have shot until I saw the video tour of his studio a year or so ago. When I learned that his bathroom has a vanity, I instantly knew.

This is the e-mail I sent John after watching "In Thirty" last weekend:

You did it, John! You took one of my all time favorite mainstream stranglings and made it a helluva lot better. Thank you! I've outlined my thoughts below.

Hits:

* Alexandria looked drop-dead gorgeous in that dress, and the sandals I bought. My thanks to her again for having her nails professionally done. Red is by far my favorite.
* Though my script didn't include any dialogue for the boyfriend, you did a great job with his lines and the audio for his part of the phone conversation.
* Fantastic shots of her feet while she's putting the sandals on, and throughout the clip. Speaking as a foot fetishist, god damn they looked delicious!
* My script called for the bathroom scene to start with a ground level shot of the bathroom door as she entered, following her feet all the way to the vanity. In my mind, the camera was already inside the bathroom when she entered. After shooting day, I realized I actually wanted the camera to follow her feet to the bathroom and stay with them as she entered and approached the vanity. Though you couldn't have known otherwise, thank you very much for being on the same proverbial wavelength. What you shot was a lot better than what I wrote.
* In the original scene, Deborah looked up only once, when she saw John Lithgow's character above her right before he attacked. That was the pivotal moment in the scene, and I was really looking forward to seeing Alexandria look up and find the killer looming overhead before he struck. However, for the context of this remake, I prefer your version having Alexandria taken completely by surprise. Unlike Deborah, Alexandria had no idea the killer was in the building, never mind the bathroom, so the surprise attack was definitely more effective - and I do love surprise attacks - especially since we get a much better shot of Alexandria's reaction than I imagine we would've otherwise, given the limited space in your studio's bathroom. I especially enjoyed the prolonged setup as she was touching up her makeup.
* Terrific performance by Alexandria. She kept her hands exactly where I wanted them, and her gasping sounded perfect for what I was looking for during the strangling.
* Superb necro scene, including the slow removal of her dress and caressing of her naked form. The foot job was about as long as I had in mind, the foot shots themselves were amazing, and Alexandria's death stare was picture perfect.
* I loved the outtakes at the end. I couldn't stop chuckling at your narration while they tried figuring out the shoes. Your comment about my having found the the most complicated pair of sandals on the planet was hilarious..

Misses:

* I did not like the one camera pan down her body during the struggle. My script called for straight cuts between her feet and head throughout the strangling. Aside from that, excellent camera work on the death scene.
* In the original scene, we get a close-up of Deborah's mouth as she pulls the toothbrush away, giving John his opening to attack. While Alexandria does pull the lipstick away, there was no close-up of her mouth even though it was in my script.
* During the necro scene, my script had the killer rest her feet on his shoulders while he fucked her corpse. He didn't do that in the clip.

Overall:

This was $500 very well spent. My dream to see a fetish-style remake of the bathroom strangling from Blow Out has finally come true, and I could not be more thankful to you and everyone involved. I am absolutely looking forward to commissioning my next paid custom with you. :)
