Hitman: Absolution - I've Canceled My Pre-Order

I just read a review by PC Gamer and have submitted a request to Steam.com to cancel my pre-order. Hopefully it'll be processed before the game goes live.

Here are the three biggest points they brought up that turned me off:

- No save system
- Frustrating checkpoint system
- "Several of the actual kills are played out in cinematic cut scenes, and sometimes all your hard stealth work in getting to the target is rewarded with a cinematic of your character screwing it up."

My bestfriend is an avid gamer and I think Hitman is one of the series he follows. I wonder if he's read the same article? I will forward it to him just in case.

He has been saying how his interest in the video game industry has been dwindling. I think he said something about how most companies will push out an incomplete and glitchy game with thoughts of finishing/patching it after release?

Any ways, thanks for sharing this, Nyghtfall! Sorry to hear you lost interest in a game it sounded like you were anticipating!

It's 8:30pm here, the game goes live in 3 hours, and there's no reply to the support ticket I opened with Steam yesterday evening to have my pre-order canceled.

I don't think anyone's answering anymore support tickets at this point today, so I've closed mine and am pre-loading the game now.

Here's hoping it either isn't as bad as some critics have reported, or I can find a way to enjoy it despite the issues they raised.
