Nicheclips admin purges

If you are having difficulty finding that older video in various producer stores, Nicheclips admin purges (deletes) store videos without warning or notice even though we are active producers. Thus some videos of interest may have to be pulled from producer archives.
For example; as of yesterday over 100 videos have been deleted from Horror Variety Theater.

Reminds me of another site administrator that deletes things without notice.

Yes, I challenged them the first time this occurred. The reply I got was simply that in their judgement they purged older material. I checked my records this latest time. Several deleted videos had sold 1 or more copies in the previous month.
If anyone ever noticed, JohnM reposted many videos that fans requested be made available. Thus that may be the way to go.
I have been watching my library buildup for the past two years. So no complaints per se. Apparently Nicheclips needs the server space for the "crush" stores.
Tezza22x, I mention this only to let the public know that videos do disappear from Nicheclips. What the server thresh hold is, I do not know. It may be that some producers more closely manage their libraries.

Actually, Brandy D'Vinn has also complained about this on DS earlier today. So, that's two producers. I can also confirm that this does happen as I've had a few of my older videos deleted by Nicheclips. It's simply a matter of good business practice for them. If a video isn't selling, and is taking up space on their server, then they will delete it, and there are rules against a producer re-posting these deleted clips. Remember, Nicheclips owns the site, so they get to call the shots. If producers don't have their own independent store sites, then they will be completely subject to the rules of the clip malls where they offer their videos.
Just sayin'

They have the right to do as they wish, but I would fiercely contest the notion that this is "good business practice". I used to have 700+ videos on Nicheclips. Over the course of a few such purges, I am down to a couple hundred. I consider selling for $200. a month to be a 'good month' for Nicheclips nowadays. A few years ago, my monthly sales were easily twice that. The amount of disk storage space it would cost to continue to host all my videos costs on the order of an extra $20. and that's a one time cost. There is absolutely no question that Nicheclips would earn 'more' than that $20. on sales commissions in the first month if all my videos were still present.
Shoot, if they'd given me the option, I would have paid for a whole extra harddrive myself if it meant I could keep all my videos on, and consider the cost well paid off from the very first month. But they never gave anyone the option, they just deleted hundreds of videos in a single swath, videos that took hundreds of hours to upload and enter data for. Them just deleting stuff is frankly, extremely shitty for those on the receiving end. It sucks big time and looses money for everyone, Nicheclips included.

It does indeed seem a strange policy given that storage has never been cheaper with multi terabyte drives available. Have they actually stated that they are making space for crush clips or is that just a theory? If it were true it would show rather poor business sense as the crush clips never make the top 50 sellers and the top 25 stores are nearly all necros.
If they must limit the storage space they give you then surely it would make more sense to tell each producer how much he has and let them manage their own space by deleting an old clip to make room for a new one.

Storage may not be a problem. It could be simply the "Big Brother is watching you" syndrome.
The multi-store producers have switched videos between stores, I have noted...
