vintage detective mag covers

From the good old days when the only source of material for most of us were these magazine covers down at the local drug store. It's amazing that they got away with showing some of this stuff. Favorites were those where the model was at least seminude or in outfits that showed a lot of flesh...

Today's batch... trying to distribute out the mediocre ones with the really interesting ones... Today we have the topless or nude girl secured for some possible whipping... note the apparent imprint of the model's bra still going around her back... apparently it was only recently removed. "Okay, honey... let's get that bra off you and get you tied up and get shooting... time is money..." We also have the girl in the chair with her shirt opened... everything probably carefully arranged to get the contour of her breast and the right amount of skin showing... hey I'll volunteer to do that on a shoot like this... might take me lots of trial and error moving her shirt and cord around, though

Finally, the nude girl clutching the sheet... a masterpiece in that if the sheet were shifted just an inch in some places something not drugstore-magazinerack compatible would be showing. Wonder what the model thought of that... and did she ever wander into a local store and see her seminude sexually threatened form on the cover out on display? And what if a guy drooling over it looked over at her... and recognized her...?

Today we have a five for one... same girl menaced in what appears to be the same photo shoot or two with variations.

Today's batch... one topless! And you in the blue mostly-opened shirt... could you open that just a couple of inches more for us...?

Here we have the same girl as in one of the above shots, before she got wet and they threw a rope around her neck. Here she is clutching a towel unlike the other cover, but she obviously wasn't wearing anything during the photo shoot and the photographer probably got a nice eyeful of skin, and got paid for it, the lucky bastard.

Yeah, look at the eyes of the guy holding the wrench and guess what HE is staring at... probably got paid for it too, the bastard.

Two shots from the same shoot... "Let's do two of you... one menaced with a knife to your throat and another with a gun while your wrists are tied... you have a decent rack, babe, but that bra you're wearing is awful and doesn't show much... couldn't you have worn something see through?"

In one of my late night surfing sessions I came across an online site talking about the detective magazine "scene".
I have been unable to locate the link again, but as soon as I do, I will post it.
It talked about the cross over between magazine covers and bondage sets of the same time.
It seems that photographers took rolls of "stock" shots, sold to the magazines ( which is why you can find the same girl in sorta the same shot on two different magazines) then continued the shoot with bondage sets, sold to the bondage magazines.
The article then showed examples, I think one is above.
It was late, I was medicated, I forgot to bookmark...sorry
These magazines were the stuff my early fantasies were made of until I could legally buy the real bondage stuff.

My local comic book store has a ton of these for about $2 each.

I think it was TAO Productions that sold off some of their lighter stuff for detective mag covers... I remember seeing a few covers that were interesting that they had more revealing versions of that were hot. Not sure that was done with the others, though... which is a pity...

Here, weird guy... we'll pay you money to look down this tied-up girl's bra while we take pictures... I'm in the wrong line of work...

Actually the above photo is from a TAO shoot for which I think more explicit versions exist. Here's the one I meant to post.

Let's see. We're going to have you topless on the set, sweetie; all you're going to be wearing is a pair of shorts that look like they've been sprayed on... this guy here, who is getting paid more than you, is going to ogle you and start to pull your shorts off... and after we have the PG rated shot for the cover, he may well pull the rest of them off and we'll keep the camera rolling...
