Antone know what has happened to beta.xxxratedgroups.com ? Any time i try to log on I get this taking too long to respond.

be carefull with that site it has a bunch of viruses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe it has finally gone away again...
Sorry to all who tried again and again to make that place work ( I had a group there )
It looked like it would have been THE answer to Yahoo groups, but there were problems
that were never really solved.
As a group owner, unless I paid for access, I had no more viewing rights than a viewer.

XRG NEVER had any viruses! I wonder just what motivates your unfounded, bitter assertion?

The site from its origin to its rebirth, redeath, and damaged resurection never made any profit and was really just a financial drain to its owner, essentially a gift to the "community." But of course, on the internet "No good deed goes unpunished." It had been sabotaged by a blackmailing programmer to begin with, then hacked and crashed so many times that it was nearly paralyzed. I don't know why XRG is down at this time or if it is coming back. But it would certainly be understandable if the owner just got sick of paying for it....................elsullo

I have to agree with elsullo. In its first two trys anyway, Never any viruses!
Other problems...yes.
It started out as a "gay" site, in fact, searching for my nickname in Google image search turned up the old site name all those years ago.
The original owner couldn't figure out how he wanted to run it. First owners would pay for their storage of pics and text beyond a basic amount. (I paid ) then for a month or so ,he got the idea to let members buy space for the groups.( some of my members paid) then everything went to heck....end of Xratedgroups1.0 ( we all lost $$)

Along came Xratedgroups 2.0 or XXXratedGroups ( revenge of the programmer)
gave it one more try ( paid again) Couldn't upload, couldn't send messages to members, members couldn't do anything but read the group.. lost entire galleries...support had a ton of excuses....and then it was gone again...
for over a year...
Came back the last tome ( version 3.0) with some interface I could never figure out. supposedly had some kind of live chat ( you could watch it scrolling in front of you, but never could find out where to enter the chat. Almost like two separate sites but somehow connected. My old group was there, with a member list, but all images and text postings gone.
As I said, nobody was able to join, and as the owner unless I paid for a membership, I was just along for the ride...i could upload pics, couldn't edit approve or delete anything.
support was non existent. NEVER heard back about any of my questions... so I gave up.
Shame really....
It had great promise...

I never had problems with the site either--except when, as now, they'd just disappear. Hope it comes back again. There were some pretty hot groups there.
