What makes a MG video great?
What makes a machinegun video great? Blood, special effects, shaking etc.

Personally, I just like watching the girls shake a lot--then fall still in an awkward position. Maybe a few pm twitches.

Great topic and all the FX in the world will not excuse a good setup.Imho some producers rush the scene to just deliver the climatic demise which is a good shake that often is not set up with a normal and reactive response by the models or well scripted . My take is slow it down with good lines.. have several burst and let the models show their reactions and surprise. However a new idea or hook that is pushing the envelope is a winner ,.Basically they are time consuming and take a lot of coordination to get it perfect. Totally scantly clothed with a great target area helps. Great topic Max

I tend to find the "awkward position" most interesting. I've tried to do that in some non-MG videos and find it enhances the overall production. Thanks for bring that point up.
Gold,
I also like a good lead-up. It's also a good way to bring in sub-fetishes like smoking into the scene. Good points for me to keep in mind. Thanks.

Re: What makes a MG video great?
I`ll put here what I put on DS.
Well, as with everything it comes down to very specific likes of each individual. So I`ll just speak for my own although I`ll use generalizations in order to make my opinion easier to read:
I preffer a machinegunning that contains a certain level of "realism". But not on a gore - faces of death type of realism. Im talking about a certain flow in the video and performance from the actress that MAKES you feel it is kind of realistic (regardless wether you`ve seen a real thing or not).
This ideal involves, yet again, a certain quote of suspension of disbelief. In my case it works in the sense that the noise from the gun should be audible at certain point (because the noise is freightening and to me it kind of adds value to the scene). But at the same time it should overlapp the actress`s voice and vocal reactions.
That is something I see a lot in many recent machinegunning videos. The sound is way too loud and you cant hear anything from the girl.
Another point that I find annoying (and repetitive in, again, many recent machinegunnings) is the fact that the girl overreacts extremely weird. The shaking is too centered and repetitive. More like a marionet being trashed from above. The falling is usually rather lame. Its more a faint than a falling. I dont even want to mention when the shooting makes the girl spin around and receive bullets in the back. It gets even worse when that happens in terms of the acting.
I know, some will argue that a real looking machinegunning would be a lot more brutal, and short spaced, and the girl would have to be a professional stunt to perform something more realistic. I acnkowledge that. But I aim more to the middle ground here, to a little bit more of creative body expressions that could make the shooting a little more vivid.
I remember actress Melle from the old AF videos, a chubby girl, black hair, blue eyes. There were other actresses that some may say were more... mmhh how should I put it... "enticing to the eyes" than Melle. But she was, imho, one of the best actresses within their staff. Her reactions to machinegunnings were superb and till this day remain to my experience as the best ones I`ve ever saw.
The "catch" I believe, was that the barrage of fire where short busted so it allowed her a better optimization of her movements. Whereas long limitless firing demands unrealistic body language.
So, I know you asked about specifics of how a machinegunning would be excellent to us and I just ranted about what i dont like. But I think that it responds the answer if you deduce it from my rant =P
