Are we primarily sexual beings?

Well, you can probably guess my vote on this question.
I know that we are the most intelligent species on the planet, and that we have accomplished much in many fields of science, philosophy, religion and the arts, but where would we be without sex? Am I just a very shallow male, because sex is constantly on my mind. Even when it isn't, there will be a sexy ad on TV, or some gorgeous cheerleaders at a sports game, or even a beautiful news anchor. Pretty women attract my attention everywhere at all times. So, am I alone in this thoughts? Should I invest in a shrink, or is it possible that others have these sexual fetishes. If so, are they a dominating part of your life, or can you simply turn off these thoughts for months at a time. Just asking
