TLDR Version: Thumbs up!

Having seen CH's previous work, the production values are their usual high standard. Cinematography, lighting, and solid performances create a viewing experience that feels on par with mainstream indie films.

While the strangling and chloro are both good on their own merits, the chloro turned me on more than the strangling. Sonya's performance while being knocked out is irresistably sexy and wound up overshadowing her death scene for me. There's a particular moment when the camers is focused on her stunned expression before she loses consciousness that I've lost count of the number of times I've watched and kept pausing. The closeup on her bare feet kicking and scraping the floor for leverage were a fantastic surprise because they aren't shown in the ad copy. There's a moment while she's kicking when her muffled squirm reaches its apex right before both feet briefly leave the ground and the toes on her left foot are pointing hard. It's a blink-and-miss moment that makes for an excellent screenshot.

The camera work on the strangling did well to showcase Sonya's body during wide shots. I especially liked a couple of bed-level shots that captured her pained expressions from the headboard looking down toward her and the killer. I cought one moment during the strangling where the cord was visibly lax while she was still gasping for air but didn't last long enough to ruin the scene.

My only significant turn-off was the revelation that she was wearing knee-high boots during her drive home. I hate knee-high boots. As a foot fetishist, I think they hide far too much of women's legs. Given that this was clearly filmed in Winter, I can understand the practical choice of footwear, but she was playing a professional woman and the boots looked out-of-character. I would've much rather she'd worn a stylish pair of ankle boots.

If, like me, you like classic home invasions featuring career women and masked killers, you won't be disappointed with "Last Night 2".

Thanks for your detailed review!

BTW... your new nifty avatar... "N3D" is it in reference or refer to...
The N3D company that creates 3D "copies" of people as small scale figurines or virtual images.
They are amazingly accurate and detailed. As memorabilia, the realism places you "in the moment"
in a way that traditional photographs can't. Just being curious

I've never heard of n-3-d.com. My avatar is my brand logo for my 3D art hobby. The 'N' is simply the first letter of my username.

Someone on FN asked for screenshots of the moments I outlined in my review so I decided to share them here as well.

The video is available from Advocate's "More Crime House" store on NC.

No worries, I spent several hours one evening brainstorming different layouts using those three characters and am just thankful I didn't accidentally create something similar to his logo. I am slightly envious of how he got them to overlap each other but I don't like the font he used, so it's all good. LOL
