Who likes drownings, and why?

Hey Gang,
I've done a few drownings, but I was wondering how much interest there is in them. I was thinking of renting an underwater cam box to shoot in my swimming pool, but the video would have to be a winner for me to recover my costs. So, I thought I'd do some fishing (pun intended) and start a discussion about drownings in general, to find out:
1. Is there interest in this form of female death?;
2. What aspects do you prefer... face down, face looking up through the water, pool drownings, bathtub drownings, fishbowl drownings?; and,
3. What was your favourite mainstream film drowning and why?
Any takers?

Blue, you get high marks for starting interesting subjects!!
I've done a few drowning customs. And, I do occasionally get e-mail from drowning afficionados. However, sales of drowning movies have mostly been disappointing for me.
I share your interest in shooting underwater eipsodes/views of the subject, however.
I remember a movie with Frank Sinatra where a woman had been executed by the mob wearing concrete shoes (and that was all she was wearing, as I remember). Then, Patsy Kinset was drowned in Lethal Weapon II and I recall that as being very sexy too.

Drownings are one of my "favored" types of demise, (I prefer bloodless or almost bloodless demises) and done right......
I once contracted for a custom drowning ( as producers seem to prefer nude bathroom scenes)
It cost me almost twice what I paid for a two girl bondage custom, I even supplied the uniforms.
It was supposed to be a policewoman or security guard who was investigating a trespasser at a home.(with pool) As the officer walked past the pool she was supposed to be attacked and pushed in the pool, where a struggle ensued, she was drowned and her attacker ( also female ) then removed her uniform, and took it, leaving her face up in the pool.
The producer thought better, and had the officer strip (at gunpoint) before being forced into the water, the attacker (was also nude), then tossed the gun away, dove in and a catfight in the water ensued, ending in a poor excuse for a drowning, the drown officer pulled from the water by the attacker, who then just walked away...
I received a gift drowning in a compilation tape a friend had commissioned for me after my two longest playmates had parted company with me. This one featured a female officer ( in a uniform resembling my playmate Kim's) bound and gagged, kneeling, against a post. The post was inside a plastic cylinder, which was then filled with water. We watched the struggles and drowning of the officer, while the camera made circles around the filling tank. After the struggles stopped, the camera made close up pans of the drowned officer for about a minute ( It was not a continuous pan, I assume some method was provided for the actress to breathe )
The scene continued with the water being drained away, and another series of pans, then fade out. The only sounds in the scene were made by the water and the struggling officer...

Hi Blue, I'm the guy who just purchased "Clean Kill." Thanks for the prompt technical help. What other drownings have you done? I tried searching the Bluestone Silk site, but the search engine wasn't very helpful. Not even "Clean Kill" came up when I plugged in the word "drown."
Interesting to see Rue Morgue here too. I've bought a number of his drowning vids over the years as well.
Before I make a long post elaborating on my favorite drownings, I might as well see if there's any interest in restarting a drowning discussion.
Cheers!

Hi Rodrigo,
Good to see you here and already participating. I have a store site with a search engine, but all of the juicy details are actually at: http://www.silkvideos.com. Check out http://www.silkvideos.com/haunting.html Episode 3 of Haunting Beauty has a drowning while being strangled. It features Meredith!
I have more filmed, which I can edit, if there's interest, including a Kerie drowning.

Drownings?
They mean nothing to me... Shooting, stabbing ad strangling (in this order) are MUCH, MUCH better!

Hey Dirtyharry,
Don't worry, I won't be drowning anyone in silk blouses, but there are silk blouse shootings coming up very soon.

Ever since I watched "James Bond: Thunderball" I've always wanted to see babes in bikinis/swimsuits/wetsuits battling it out with spear guns, knives and drowning. So far, I have only encountered images on the net, from sites like Scarlet's Domain, Aquafans, Scuba Babes, Yahoo Groups and Deviant Art.
Preferred apsects vary from face-up to face-down, floating, face looking up through water, stabbings, shootings, cutting hoses, impacting shafts, etc, etc. (I particularly like knives and spears protruding from bodies, including arrows and swords, etc from similar themes.)
In regards to favourite drowning, none. I have been unable to locate any films/tv shows that include actual scenes of F/F and F/M scuba fights, etc and the few media that possess some measure of drowning (outside of my preferred aspects) are seldom available in Australia.

One of the first TV drownings that really sticks in my memory from when I was in grade school was the beach drowning of a bikini babe in an episode of Charlie's Angels entitled "The Killing Kind" in the 1970's. Bikini babe is threatened by thug on the beach. She tries to swim to her boat offshore but is ambushed by a woman in scuba gear who's in cahoots with the thug.
I also like tub drownings. One of the best movie tub drownings was in the early 1970's Italian giallo "What Have You Done to Solange?" A gloved killer whose face you don't see (actually the drowning is largely seen through his eyes) finds bathing beauty in bathroom, puts his hands around her neck, and forces her into a face up drowning. This scene had generous footage of the girl's kicking legs which stop kicking when her lungs give out. Another great movie drowning (which would've been perfect if it had been filmed by a more sleazy director) was in the move Psychopath (AKA Twist of Fate) from 1998. A serial killer chloros a girl who's been modelling for him. He drags her unconscious body to the bathroom where he begins preparing a bubble bath for her, undresses her, places her in the tub, and then uses smelling salts to bring her back to consciousness so that she's awake when he grabs her feet and raises them up in the air forcing her head underwater thus drowning her. The set up was part of what was great here though, unfortunately, the undressing of the girl is mostly offscreen. If anyone wants to compare notes on drownings from TV and movies, you can download many of them from the "Underwater Clip Source" site. AJ Ray who used to sell clip tapes posts there regularly.
For me, the frantic struggle of a nude or bikini clad gal is what makes drownings titilating for me. I don't get into blood and gore.
Blue, what is the "Keira" drowning like? Is it one that you've posted for sale?
Evangeline, you say you've done several drownings. Can you give me some titles? I checked your links but could only find one.

The Kerie drowning is not yet edited, but she basically is drowned face up in a jucuzzi while dressed only in a swimsuit. Her sister, played by Suzi, is then strangled when she discovers the body. I will add this to my editing list.

The Kerie drowning sounds pretty good!

Do we get shots of kicking legs? At very least, you have alot more room to play with. The problem for producers trying to film a tub drowning is that modern tubs are rather small and they are frequently enclosed by walls on three ends making it difficult to film the scene from different angles. (By contrast, in the tub drowning in "Twist of Fate" which I mentioned earlier, they had a large old fashioned tub located in what seemed like an almost cavernous - not claustrophobic - bathroom.)

That's why I used the jacuzzi. Lots of room. Lots of kicking and splashing!
