Lift-Up Strangling Fans: Steer Clear of "Hospital" by CH

Hospital is a new release by Crime House(DR), and a total bust for fans of lift-up stranglings. The ad copy sold me on the following elements:

* Lift-up strangling

* Both shoes drop during the struggle

* Beautiful model with hella sexy feet and legs. Her red toenail polish was icing on the cake

* Killer dressed in black

I would also like to note that I only bought this for the lift-up without any regard to the story because the models are dressed nothing like the kind of Nurses they were hired to play, or fetishists like me would expect to see. I e-mailed CH a copy of the image below for future reference:

Here's why the lift-up did nothing for me:

* When the camera isn't focused on closeups of the model's feet kicking, the way her body moves during the struggle makes it quite clear that she's either standing on something, or simply standing on the floor. This is especially evident as she repeatedly bends over, which would be impossible to do against gravity. There are camera tricks and performance techniques for creating the illusion of someone being strangled under their own weight that would never put a model in any harm. They require a detail-oriented director who understands how gravity effects objects, and convincing performances by the actors. Neither of those things are featured in this video.

* She spends nearly half the fight trying to undo her uniform instead of clawing at the stocking. I guess this was done to enhance the viewer's experience by having her strip while she dies, but it only added insult to an already bad performance.

* From the moment she's lifted up, it takes one minute for her character to die. In that time, we only get two foot shots - one 10 second, and one 13 second - both during the struggle. Her shoes fall off 3 seconds into the first shot. We don't see her feet slow to rest before she's lowered down while on the verge of death.

This is my second Crime House purchase. They're 0 for 2 now.

Wow Nyghtfall you know what doesn't work, let's face it there are loads of production companies out there with crew and directors/producers that don't know filmmaking 101, are you really surprised with the end result, just pointing out what's wrong with these videos so that the filmmakers can learn or warning people not to buy because of the poor results? I'm just curious.

I'm always surprised by the end result because I believe I'm getting my money's worth when I buy a video. It would be a waste of money to expect otherwise.

I've been a member of the community for 19 years. I've seen great work by other producers, so I know what's possible on a limited budget. I've also been heavily burned, and become extremely particular about what I buy. As such, I seldom buy anything anymore. Apart from my 3-month stint as a Patreon supporter for Evangline von Winter, Hospital is the third video I've bought from anyone this year.

I would love to have written something positive about the lift-up scene and put out a good word for Crime House. I wanted very much for it to rock my world, but I found nothing to praise about it. It was poorly filmed, poorly acted, and poorly edited.

I've been talking to Ugine a lot lately helping him out, Mr B and Nyghtfall.
He's still new to the genre and learning. He admits he makes mistakes and doesn't always do things right to impress or satisfy customers or purchasers. So long as you constructively criticise his works, what didn't work for you and why, I am sure he will come out better from this learning process and make it better next time.

One of 4 sexy nurses killed in "Hospital" Nyghtfall did not
even mention.

They love the video on the DeadSkirts board in which
4 sexy nurses are strangled.

I would also point out that the Nyghtfall review is , as usual, is incomplete. He reviewed only one fantasy killing in the movie, the lift-strangulation of one nurse. There were 3 other fantasy nurse killings in the video, he did not described at all. I would never advocate not watching any movie, when if I gave an incomplete review. As you said Director B, if one is going to hold fantasy killing like this to Academy Award cinematography standards, some of the best custom video icons would never be seen by our members.

On thing that was done correctly was that video (as always with Crime House) contained no xxx -porn. Nyghtfall has a habit of picking out the death scenes xxx videos and not even mentioning that it came from a xxx-porn video, nor does he describe the porn action when it occurs.

I do really like Advocate/Crime House's material, although I must confess he is still relatively new to the genre and has a lot to learn. However he does listen to his customers and purchasers and tries to do better and make improvements.
And yes, as Geno points out, Advocate won't 'cross the line' into necro-porn territory; in fact, despite the fact that most of his actresses die scantily-clad, he takes careful measures not to cross over into the 'porn world' with his productions.

Thank you for your review Nyghtfall. To this day I have purchased three movies from Crime House. My take is that the strength of Crime House comes from the beauty of their actresses and other aspects of their movies (acting, framing, editing) are all below the median here. Shooting is the safest genre to purchase from them as it requires least skills from actresses.
