Hey ...

Happened to meet these two last weekend.
I like their enthusiasm for what they are doing.
Showing old b movies, while hosting.

If you ever had a local tv host/ hostess.
Enjoying those campy/ cheesy or snarky commentaries. Along with an old B movie.

Give them a look.
BTW yes the mummy is very beautiful in person.

How many have been made by Ed Wood or Roger Corman? They are both skilled and well-established producers of 'so-bad-they-are-good' atrocities.

The infamous "Plan 9 From Outer Space" is the only Ed Wood film in the public domain. "Glen or Glenda," "Bride of the Monster," "Orgy of the Dead," etc. are not. (sigh!)

Most Roger Corman films still are copyright protected. The few that aren't and are at the Internet Archive are "The Terror," "The Brain Eaters" and "Creature From the Haunted Sea."

However during the drive-in era many other micro-budget producers cranked out entertainingly bad sci fi and horror flicks. Dozens of these anti-classics are in the public domain and at IA for free streaming and downloading. Here are just a few examples: "I Eat Your Skin," "The Brainiac," "In the Year 2889," "Phantom From Space," "The Yesterday Machine," "Night of the Bloodbeast," "Killers From Space," "Manos the Hand of Fate," "Eegar," etc.

Thanx. Pity there isn't more Ed Wood up there - I really like him, his works and creations are literally quite astonishing.

You're welcome. "Plan 9 from Outer Space," "Bride of the Monster," "Glen or Glenda," "Night of the Ghouls," "Jail Bait" and "Orgy of the Dead" are all available on DVD in the US. Don't know about the UK.

Here are some trailers:

And one from Phil Tucker that may seem strangely familiar:

Thanx again, Algenon. Fortunately I already have nearly all of Ed Wood's movies in my personal DVD collection (some pirated or 'copied')

It is amazing how popular his movies are over here, always very entertaining and full of laugh-out-loud moments.

Glad to hear it.

I'm grateful for these off-the-wall, sanity-restoring cinematic disasters. I'm grateful to Phil Tucker's hilariously bad "Robot Monster" for providing the sartorial splendor of my avatar. I'm especially grateful to "Plan 9" for my all-time favorite movie line which I frequently use in conversations: "All you of Earth are idiots!" Try it yourself. You'll be amazed at how often it exactly fits the situation.

Surprised the early 60's epic 'Mutiny on the Bounty' starring big-names Marlon Brando and Trevor Howard never makes it into people's lists of the worst-ever Hollywood movie - it's one of my personal favourites for Marlon Brando's camp British accent and quite possibly one of the worst ever scripts what was ever written.

I recommend that folks rent "Orgy of the Dead" as it is just a lot of fun! No message and hardly any plot, just pretty scenes of nearly naked women doing pagan dances in a graveyard mainly to bounce their beautiful breasts around. Some of them get mildly whipped to entertain Satan, who is actually a fun guy! It is kind of a wish fulfillment from all those many sword and sandal and Biblical themed movies where there are pagan dances in the royal courts, but all the clothes stay on. It's in color with quite good photography. Did I mention that there a lot of beautiful bouncing breasts?........................elsullo

Here again is is the "Orgy of the Dead" trailer:

I briefly knew Mickey Jines (Hawaiian dancer) in the mid-sixties who at the time was a popular girly magazine model. I believe she still may be alive. Mickey appeared in 4 or 5 other low-budget exploitation flicks. Sadly none of them are available and probably are lost.

Absolutely. I couldn't agree more.

Fortunately we still have the outstanding 1935 version with Gable and Laughton. Charles Laughton's superb performance as Captain William Bligh is one of the movie treasures of the last century.
