(Custom) BUYERS BEWARE!!

I had ordered a custom video with Angelique Kithos/Ted Michaels back in August. Angelique is a popular model/actress for the Superheroine Genre, and I had wanted to produce a custom with her for some time. I had shared with them my plot detailing what I was looking for (Heroine Death Peril) which they were OK with. They quoted me a price which I was fine with and sent a PayPal invoice which I paid. I was also provided with a target date for completion.

Angelique initially was good about updates, I had requested a costume idea which she said could be done. But then there were delays in the components coming from the supplier. Then I agreed to use an existing costume, no big deal.

The first target date came and went; a revised date was provided. That came and went. Then another, and the responses to my inquiries stopped.

Ted then was kind enough to pick up the correspondence; again, more dates were promised and those passed with no result. And now his responses have stopped.

I know that some of you have ordered and received customs from Angelique; I also understand that what I like isn't everyone's cup of tea and may not sell well on a C4S store. But if that's the case why accept the project and take my money?

All I can say at this point is: Buyer Beware.

Blue, if this should be posted on the Superheroine Forum please feel free to move.

Anyone who orders customs beware...

We all have our issues as producers, models, customers, and fans, regardless, it's called being human. In the hundreds of customs I have produced, and the many hundreds I have turned down, or lost due to bidding, there has been one solid consistency: uncertainty on timelines and communication.... Everyone has issues and everyone can be a bit behind in this industry. I am behind on many customs, and even owe a couple models some fees for cancelling a shoot a couple months back, but the nature of the business creeps up from time to time and takes over. I know we all have our troubles from time to time, so cut them some slack evilbilly, I remember when you came to me to do a custom, but couldn't come through on your end after many emails and even confirmation that you were sending payment, and discussions about what you wanted. I'm just saying, it happens. The thing is you will get your product, and it will be better than you even imagined. Then, you will realize this isn't a perfect world, and the fetish community, like any other, will have it's issues.

Have faith and you might be surprised what you might get. I know 99.9% of the customers that have waited for me to finish a custom have been satisfied, jusssaying...

Hope everyone has a great Holiday...

A producer that is always behind...Chris B.

From experience I can say that shoots can fall apart at a moment's notice. I had a couple of shoots last month where they fell apart the day they were supposed to happen, and you do kinda have to roll with the punches. Anything can happen that can make filming a particular custom the exact way it was intended difficult to downright impossible. So, there really could be a legitimate reason for the custom to drag long.

That said, I think dropping the lines of communication is definitely not the way to handle this sort of thing. Whenever I have a customer, and a major catastrophe occurs that will prevent me from filming their clip occurs, I feel one of the first people that needs to be in the loop are the people who paid for it.

The communication doesn't need to get into the nitty gritty if it's personal stuff. Just a simple "So, this is the current situation, and these are the options of how to resolve it. Let's get together and make a decision" should suffice. Isn't that really the root of the issue EvilBilly?

Yes, that's precisely the issue. However at this point all communications have ceased from the producers.

You might threaten to complain to PayPal. Since erotic movies are not allowed, they'd lose their account.

Maybe nastier than you want to be, but the threat might get their attention.

squash this..

Not a good idea at all, and no offense sickboy but that would shut his account down, and everyone he has ever done a transaction with because it is a violation of terms of service.
This is how i lost my account and my ex gf lost hers too by "association". If you have money n your account you will forfeit every last cent, and be blackballed from that site that we should never mention "by name" because they have a team that finds these posts and go for the email accounts linked.

Evil Billy: I sent you an email with a hell of an offer to squash this bit with alternatives. If I don't hear back from you I will just chalk it up to this being more than just communication for you, just revenge.

I did receive your extremely generous offer of producing my script for free and I will decline. This post was created to warn other members of the community, not to solicit hand-outs.
