I have to say that 'Play Deb' is one of my all time favourite clips - despite the quivering third bullet wound! The build up and Debbie's acting really work for me. The way she pulls the lamp down and the quivering last few moments are excellent touches.

I think that the technical skills have improved immensely. But to be honest that is less important to me than the heart in the performances. I only discovered the 'scene' a few years ago after decades thinking I was the only one (actually I always assumed there were others but that I'd never find them). Admittedly my concerns are not those of many customers - for some reason I like my victims clothed for example! So my main criteria for purchase have been around whether this is how I would portray this scene. I like strong women characters going down to unexpected defeat, especially after apparent victory for example. Of course I don't buy many clips, especially since the UK has got antsy about violent pornography. But I look at the total impact of Delila where I find her mix of atmosphere, music, and acting brilliant (although I really like a lot less blood). Debbie D definitely has it for me as well (her vocal skills help create the scene for me), as does PKFs Ryanne's aura mixing innocence and grit.

There are talented directors and actresses who work hard for us. But it is a diverse market and I suspect that few performers can compass the entire range of interests. So I come back to finding some older clips effective despite their quality, but many marvellous modern efforts not working for my particular desires. That's just the way it is.

An important footnote not otherwise mentioned in discussions is credits. For example, Debbie D has written many clip scripts and directed several customs. This has provided Horror Variety Theater with a different POV set of ideas.

Another area not fully discussed is costuming. Debbie D is particular about costumes whether for a photo shoot or video. While most models have a limited wardrobe, Debbie will spend days putting a costume bag together. And shoes? OMG how many pairs she will put together for the various stories.

Do these factors improve production. I dare say "YES"

Hey, check out this trailer that was posted to my site: http://www.sleeppeeps.com

http://www.wonderwomanxxx.com/

This movie has really nice acting, production values, sets, script, costumes etc. Makes me wonder how good our movies would've been if money was still coming in at a decent rate.

Ah Christina! Finally she has the production company working!
She has been hinting about this for a couple years.. ( in her blogs)
I really wish her well, I'll save up my money for this! I have followed her since she first I first saw her about 8 years or so ago.
This has the look of the old "O" girl series she took over when the great Andrea Neal retired.
Wonder if the guys behind Bondage Cafe are involved...

One thing I dont like is when the strangling looks fake or is too short. I have seen some videos where the strangle scene is about 10 seconds long. Thats not even enough time to choke someone out,let alone "kill" them. I have been very vocal about my distaste for hotel ambush (a Bluestone video) in the past Hot girls, but very fake action and a very short stragling scene make this not one of the better works of Bluestone

I don't know if it's possible to create death fetish videos that everyone is going to enjoy because everyone in this community has vastly different tastes. I think the only type of death fetish consensus comes from heavy BDSM, rape and murder scenarios - not my thing for sure but popular. Let's say I wanted to do my spy stories in movie format - I'm thinking that my viewership would be maybe 1/100th to 1/10th of a video where some guy rapes and murders his daughter. This means that my movies won't be all that financially rewarding and I won't be able to put much money into them so they'll look pretty cheap with cheap sets and cheap actresses. I understand the death fetish producer's dilemma, I don't really see an answer.

As an old guy of this venue - I have seen production quality and film quality dramatically improve.
What is becoming boring with the proliferation of producers on Niche for example is "credible variety of the victim types" as would occur in every day life. For the most part the producers acquire the Young, the Thin and ultimately the Naked for their productions. (It is like reading too many Playboy Magazines when we were young -- the turn on diminishes )!
Suspect the community is our own worst enemy though as naked and screwed seems to still sells the vids. And believe me -- they must be naked - so it seems !
Occasionally someone uses a BBW (hopefully well proportioned on top ) and never a fuller figure mature - older gal i.e. real life woman.
Wouldn't it be nice to follow a serial killer (in a re occuring video series) who has a predilection for nurses, teachers, real estate ladies etc (professional women) dressed in nice feminine attire for a change. Psycho Thrillers did it early on with their guy Jack - but quickly succumed to the California model types for all that they produce. Wicked Works ventured out a bit with Morgan Mayhem who was featured for a while ( fuller figure - nicely dressed).
Yes - admitedly this is all a fantasy and it just depends on what your fantasy is.

The BBW's are not always available. Deana Demko (from WAVE) is an exception. Debbie D casted her for several Horror Variety shoots. And then there are the Triple D's representing that ageless age range many of us prefer. Generally the ladies who work for HVT fall in the general age range 25- 35. They usually have experience. Many find the death acting to be fun.

I hear the boring comments. Thus I try for a variety of locations, all of which are expensive with virtually no cost recovery. The most difficult loctions are out doors. Unlees you are a bona fide movie company, public shoots are extremely difficult. Thus so many clips are done indoors. I have done story lead-ins out doors wherein the girls are stalked on the streets, shopping malls and parking lots. However, those scenes have to be quick and run.

Lighting is always a problem. I do not have a portable light set to take on an airplane. Thus I am at the mercy of available light. My recent experience in St Louis is a case in point.
