Re: New restrictive NicheClips policy
JonhM,
I believe that the owners of Nicheclips can use whatever business model they want. That is their choice. My choice is to buy and shop via other means because I do not agree with their new policy. They will do fine without me I'm sure.

Re: New restrictive NicheClips policy
Sounds like Geno was considering banning Nicheclips links on DS, but thought better of it. Many producers in our community depend on Nicheclips (and T.P.A.P.) to sell their videos. Lorenzo is a longtime member of our community and should be lauded for setting up this site to give other producers an opportunity to get started in this business with no real set-up costs. Nicheclips' links will never be banned on FF. The existence of Nicheclips will never be hidden from FF members (or those surfing our site). The absolute last thing that we need in this community is the censorship and banning of our community's websites. Of course, Geno can run his site any way he pleases, and usually does, but I think the rest of us should support each other's sites, because it's community solidarity that we need, not blustering egotistical censorship which should have no place in our fair community.
Of course, these are just my personal opinions and reflections. Feel free to disagree with me. Free speech is honoured here, if not in other specific circles.

Update: The links to the images (for advertisers) should work again by weeks end. In addition, the previewing of the site by non-logged in folks may be added as well.
Thanks,

- What is your main fetish?: A pretty wide variety of erotic horror appeals to me. I am mainly into the psychological aspects of snuff scenes- loss of control, fear, facing one's demise; which is present in anything from a strangle scene to vore to guillotine executions. I'm not really interested in post mortem anything or loads of blood, and guns are pretty low on my radar. I do not have any interest in real death (faces of death, anyone actually getting hurt, etc.).

Frankly, I don't like the crush stores. I know folks find my particular fetish highly objectionable, but mine doesn't actually hurt anyone or anything. Crickets and snails are one thing, but it's pretty much consensus these days that more advanced arthropods do feel pain, and it isn't like the crush folks pride themselves on a clean kill. I've even seen octopi show up in videos, and those are a fairly intelligent species well capable of reacting to pain.Bluestone wrote:But what about the insect rights groups? I'm sure they want to shut down the crush stores just like the anti-necro groups want to shut us down!
I know they sit at the same table, and I don't really begrudge them their spot, but I'd be a lot happier if they were stomping on little special effects and popping squibs under their feet. I've done plenty of research work with the little ugly beasties of the world, and I have a certain affection for the underdogs who literally end up underfoot.

A bit hypocritical as we kill insects by the billion when they get in our way, e.g. try to eat the fruit we grow. OK, I can't understand it as a fetish, but ours is equally difficult to explain?

Just briefly, it isn't really that they are killing bugs which raises some uneasiness. That they are killing them for no practical reason raises qualms. But problems for me really begin to kick in once they go past organisms that simply go squish, and into organisms large and complex enough to feel pain. Because the pain does not seem to be a side effect of enjoying stomping things - the pain and fear itself is the main draw. I know perfectly well my eating habits have killed a great many animals, but for whatever reason I would recoil in horror at a lamb being tortured, killed, and thrown away for my entertainment. I accept the commodification of a creatures physical body, but I have a really hard time accepting the commodification of a creature's pain.

But it is for a practical reason. They are making money out of it. That is the No. 1 motivation for any human action!
