No, I completely understood your comment, John... and I agreed that we needed a more rounded approach here. My thoughts are that the more customers of various and varied producers who make FF their second home, the more accurate these polls will become. I also think that if you, or another producer, ran a poll here, you'd get slightly different results, because your post may attract customers who are more inclined to follow your work. You should try it.

So, JohnM started out making clips where the vic is "only" murdered, and they didn't sell very well. Then, he added strong sexual content and sales increased dramatically. Is that correct? If so, I'm surprised his early videos were flops compared to his current ones. There are plenty of examples of Nicheclips hits that don't have a rape in them. I'd have thought his early works would have done as well as Blue's do now.

I think there are more buyers of "rape and murder" videos than there are of "death fetish only" videos. I don't think there's that much overlap in the two groups. Blue and a few others show that you can succeed without the porn, but you won't be #1 in sales.

Actually, my first release as my own company in 2006 was with Paris Kennedy and included incest and rape as well. And for the first year, about 10-25% of the movies I shot were hardcore content and 90% of the reason were customs.

But, it is much cheaper not to shoot hardcore, so most of mine was and sold just fine. But as time when on, there was some demand so I would put out one here and there as we got models that would to it.

I release 50/50. That is half of what I release has some sort of hardcore element, and half of what I release does not. Most of the hardcore today is driven by custom productions. Meaning, the customer is paying for the hardcore to be produced.

I am not sure why I would edit out the hardcore content in these custom produced productions? If someone can give me a good reason why I would do that, please let me know.

Otherwise, I will keep doing 50/50 and not worry about it. People who want porn, can find the movies that have it. People who don't want it, can find movies without. With over 800 movies, there are plenty for both to choose from.

For me I would rather have "No sex please we're British" and certainly would not be tempted to buy something because it contained porn- the reverse, in fact.

In the U.K. it has become dangerous to link sex and snuff. This is a factor for some, but I don't know to what extent it will affect sales.

You said it, smudger, and I'm not even British (except by ancestry, I guess). Not only do I not want guys dropping their pants in my erotica, I don't want them on camera at all!

By the time I was 18 years old I had an excellent idea of what genitalia looked like, and by the time I was 20 sight of the so-called private parts ceased to be a turn on or a necessary element of my eroticism. Therefore I completely agree with Smudger and Bullseye. I don't object to nudity in a fetish video (provided the model has a reasonably good body not covered in toos), but it isn't at all necessary. For me a sexy little dress or silk lingerie as in the attached is more titillating than total nudity. Nor do I object to sex being part of a death fetish video. But I do object to paying $30 for a video which turns out to be 90% porn and 10% snuff. If I wanted porn I would have bought porn. Low-cost, high-quality porn floods the market, which is the reverse of the death fetish situation. I only hope our producers will remember this.
