The text chatter was incessant at Deadskirts but everywhere I wander these days is about as empty as a church.
What became of all the prattle?
This board has always had a lot of visitors but they all seem to be of the "Strong, Silent Type".
:?
I've always wondered that myself, Buck. I actually registered at this board first a couple years ago, and began posting my reviews here, hoping to stir up some activity. I seem to recall only one other fellow who was doing the same at that time, and we had a few pleasant exchanges, but we simply couldn't "wake the dead."

Another fellow whom I became friends with pointed me over to the D.S. board, where it seemed like Times Square, so I began to post there instead. Frankly, I noticed a fair number of people viewing my posts, but there was very little in actual posted responses to them.

Eventually, Tostig opened his A.W. fans board, and since the bulk of my purchases were from Olaf's studio, and I wanted to see the that board succeed, I began focusing most of my posting on that forum.

Then D.S. went away, and with it, all the posts I had taken the time to make. Suddenly, there was a huge influx of member activity here at Blue's board, and I was excited to think that it was now perhaps going to explode into the beacon of activity that D.S. once was.

But Alas, this was not to be. It HAS increased in activity quite a bit, but NOTHING like the grand central that was D.S. I began my reviews here again, and even started my own dedicated thread to it, following your lead in keeping it simple.

After doing this a few months ago, it has only gotten 5k views, and very little in the way of responses, so I decided in December to sort of retire from it. It just doesn't seem worth the effort.

But I sit and scratch my head like you after seeing the number of visitors at the bottom of the screen, then wondering where the hell all these people are and why are they so reluctant to simply say a few words, even if it's just in the form of a question about a vid they're trying to locate. Some mysteries are to forever remain unsolved, I guess...

The Darkfetishnet appears to be quite active and a fair number of those who posted at the DeadSkirts site may have wandered over there. I don't believe that it would suit your purposes as it seems to be a 'picture collection' site for the most part. However there is an area dedicated to blogs if someone is inclined to write at some length. But I doubt that the author would get anything more in the way of approbation there than he or she is likely to glean anywhere else.

As far as 'getting anything going' is concerned, I am certain that G-Man would know how to go about it - although he certainly wouldn't want to any more than Tostig did when he inadvertently did something to promote your ire. But "ire" is the word. G-Man was responsible for a message board himself at one time upon which at times the Flame Wars raged hot and heavy. If action is what you crave all that need be done is to pitch an insult at someone then stand back and watch what happens. There were times when I'm almost certain that the proprietor of DeadSkirts did it just to get things going. I neither advocate nor encourage the practice. I'm a peaceable old geek myself and always have been for the most part. You'd like to see some reaction to your reviews while I'd like to know if my 'advertising' does any good at all. We are both in the same boat. I expect that anyone who posts anything anywhere is.

I hear you, Buck. I am registered at darkfetishnet and fetnoir, but don't really go there. As you know by now, the bulk of everything featured on any of these boards is not really my thing, so tens of thousands of pics of bodies in morgues, stranglings, bear hugs, stabbings, beheadings, and on and on simply don't offer the slightest bit of amusement for me.

I really just like looking at topless women, lol. And I'm picky about which ones. I also like action movies. For decades I wondered "hmmm, what if you could somehow combine the two together, with an actual decent storyline and some well written dialogue, then film it with hot women battling each other with arrows or bullets, especially in a small, intimate, noir-style setting..." But I never dreamed anyone was producing such things for the market.

Then, one day a couple years ago, I was surfing the net and stumbled upon Olaf's work. That led me to discover this forum and all the other producers offering such things as I never thought existed. My problem is, for my very particular taste, I never really find exactly what I'm looking for. It would be much easier if I were a strangle type of guy, then I could have my fill of literally thousands of vids that are all featured here.

But, as a true film aficionado and a writer, I want an actual plotline, and some cool dialogue to match. There is my problem. Fetish producers must cater to the 99% if they want to stay in business, not goons like me. I know this, so I simply buy vids that are as close as possible to my taste and keep trucking along. And that's OK, because that's just business.

Since I enjoy writing, and since I, too, wanted to help bolster Olaf's and other producers' sales, I thought I'd write some reviews here and on the other boards that would achieve both those things, but sadly, that just doesn't seem to be the case. It's like a fucking ghost town, except for the dozen or so people that Jack mentioned above.

After the closing of D.S., I did throw a review or two up on F.N., but quit when I kept having to resize the pics I was posting there since they were too big. Here, they seemed to upload OK, and I'm not spending the time to make 2 of every screenshot I take.

So anyway, that's why I sort of gave up. I'm really not looking for any big discussions on anything, or controversy, or even thanks or praise for my reviews. I'd be tickled with just the tiniest posts in my thread from people who simply said something like "sounds like my cup of tea, I'll give it a try," or "say, do you happen to own such and such vid, and can you tell me how much of these elements it features..." But there are only crickets... Oh well...

Oh, and as far as my "ire," I don't write poems. So when a small passage I had written on Tostig's board was wrongly claimed to be such, then placed in some "art forum" where I never intended it, yes, I was less than happy. But as I'm sure you noticed at the time, I didn't say a word over there, because I didn't want to start what you guys call a "flame war."

These are the only forums I've ever really participated in, and I'm really not the socialite type who wants to get involved in continuous discussions of any type, even fun topics. But SOME activity in a thread must be shown to keep interest going, or it just doesn't seem worth it. And I think that's the point I reached back in December.

tostig wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 12:23 am I see this trend too. It is not just Deadskirts. It is Deviantart, and also the omniscient social media, where we are not welcome at all. We are being cancelled and we are allowing it to happen with our apathy. We cannot even bother with enough time to log in and support our friends with our thoughts and encouragement anymore. If we make a mistake in trying to do the right thing our own brothers bite us in the ass and call us out rather than trying to understand. Sometimes it feels like there is just no fight left in the dog. The censors are winning because we are either divided or fatigued by the struggle. We need to be more supportive of one another.
Nobody's cancelling me, that's for sure. I'm self-employed, single and don't give a fuck 🤷‍♂️

It only is effective against celebrities and people who cultivate a squeaky clean demeanor that's at odds with their hidden nature. I'm not famous and shockingly up front with all of my skeletons so outing me is nigh impossible.

Besides that, I'm not on twitter. There's most of their power gone right there. 😉
