I have had the same experience at PP. I requested a banner link several months ago, and it still isn't up on the links page. It appears that there is very little activity over there as of late.

I logged in and looked at the member list it, appears members have been approved almost daily.
I went back to june 1 ( member 1400) and didn't find anyone I know.
Interestingly out of members 1400-1650 only 3 have posted and only 1 has posted more than twice.
There was a posting by Sedira dated today, thanking Modedrators for trying to keep things running with their limited powers, Making all first time posts moderated, and saying she would be making a major announcement soon (?)
Maybe someone doesn't like you??? (I have no answer from my PM - and the member - moderator I sent one to has been online and posted since then )

You mean there may be someone who doesn't like me? Go figure
The major disadvantage of running a non-pay site is that it's a lot of time and effort for no compensation. I think the administration at PP may be feeling these burn-out effects. Well, I guess we'll wait for the announcement.

I do not know what has been causing the delay in membership approvals. But I can say that the new policy of requiring first post approvals should fix the problem, as it should allow for instant registration of memberships, just not instant posting for the first post. Hopefully such kinks will be ironed out shortly.
I have had a few of my own actresses try to register on PP, also with not a one of them ever getting a response. This was clearly a problem and none of the moderators could understand why it was happening.

I tried to register for PP months ago and never got a reply of any sort (or activation).

Try again, the moderators have been given some new powers:
Sedira wrote:
This is now done and users first posts have to be approved by an admin.
and a response was:
Bravo! Thank you Sedira. This will both effectively eliminate spam, take a huge load off of the moderators, and allow people to become members without having to wait sometimes days to be approved (and sometimes never even get a response). So all around, this is a really big deal.
so maybe what was lost can be found again by simply re registering

My point: It seems pathetic that DS moderators have to police the DS owner. The same isn't necessary for other message boards.

Such posts are not removed here, because on DS the removal of such posts only protects the poster, in this case Geno. Therefore, he can make the most obnoxious posts, and his moderators will cover up for him. No, that will not happen here. You make a post like that on FF and it will be there forever to prove to everyone the type of person that the poster really is. If Geno cannot control his 'mouth' even on his own board, it's obvious to me that he wouldn't be able to control it here. More evidence to my mind why his banning from this board was entirely justified.

I believe in the truth, Knight 4P. Do you remember the Nixon tapes and the deleted section? Well, the quote above is like the deleted section of that tape. Are you saying that the American people shouldn't be entitled to listen to that deleted section, if I was lucky enough to have made a copy of that tape before that section was deleted? Are you saying that the FF board should instead become part of the cover-up... to hide the truth from the masses? Why would the truth foster greater animosity between the boards? That's like saying that revealing the Nixon tapes fostered animosity between the Democrats and the Republicans. Now, we wouldn't want to do that, now would we? Hey, guess what, many Republicans even agreed that it was better that Nixon step down. Hmmmm, perhaps instead of pointing the finger at the FF board, the finger should be pointed at the leader of the board who made such offensive remarks! Now, Pennpaul, since the insults were apparently made against you and your actresses, why am I more outraged over this than you? Curiouser and curiouser

Funny...I had suggested over at DS that a heated topic which had devolved into a flame war be locked/deleted, and Geno called me an opponent of Free Speech. Now Pennpaul is calling that action 'responsible moderation'. Wow.

You know, This topic has moved so far off the original subject matter, I think it's time to move on. I'll leave it open the rest of the day for final comments then close it.
If, after closing there is interest in any of the topics discussed here, open a new thread.
