I really love the idea of the villain growing stronger, the more power she uses. In a way, that means she's defeating herself! The perfect way for a heroine to go down!

I do love it when the heroine is taken with chloroform first, before the fatal fight. It implies that the villain is toying with her, knowing that he can kill her at will! She's simply there to die for his entertainment!
