How many messages in the chatbox per day?

How long should I wait before amending a message in the chatbox ? Put another message?
The day before yesterday I waited the whole day to put another message in the chatbox. The previous post was senseless alone.
How many messages are allowed per day ?

An unlimited number are allowed, but not a lot of people chat, and some think it's a search engine and post things like... "decapitation", "strangle", "vampire". The search box is top right. Why so many people miss it is beyond me.

I get the message:
ERROR
You can not post another message so soon after your last
A few days ago, I waited ... several... hours !
Today:
message in the chatbox: 7 am
test: 9 am - nothing
12.42 am - nothing
3.24 pm. - nothing
5.15 pm. - nothing

Well, that's because chat is meant for conversation. So, you cannot post again until someone responds to your chat post. Then, there's no waiting time.

The thing that sucks is when you mess up with a post in the chat box and then you can't add onto it or correct it. However, I understand the reason the limit was put in place as it prevents the chat from getting flooded by spam.
