Yes, I will miss the husky and melodic voice of Mary Travers. She and her two partners popularized the concept of folk music, and introduced it to those who didn't inhabit the coffee houses of the lower east side of Manhattan. We can take solace in the fact that Mary's voice, as well as those of the rest of the group, has been recorded and preserved for as long as people will listen to them.

Henry Gibson, who wrote his own poetry,will also be sorely missed. He was not afraid of people laughing at his poems. He would stand, straight as an arrow, with a huge flower in his hand ( which almost resembled a large feather duster), and like a schoolboy recite his poem. He was truly a talented member of the Laugh In group which to me represented a different concept in a comedy show.

They are two irreplaceable talents.

Both of these people, but more Mary and a few others got me through the horrific hours I spend in pre med college and when I was just a year away from Med School I got nailed by the US Army. It's a lot like DS but less rules. Unfortunately my Army career ended abuptly but got an Honorable Discharge and not banned, and in both cases horrified of any thought of returning.

Mary and others' music got me through life and life for whatever reasons took me to law enforcement and snuff porn. Both are curiously similar. In the End, we all will end up in the same place.
