T.P.A.P. Woes

Post by Bluestone »

For those who haven't yet heard and are having difficulty ordering from The Progressive Art Project, that site has temporarily lost its ebiller. They are working on getting back up and running. This is a concern for the community, since many producers rely upon T.P.A.P. as the only market, or one of the only markets, for their products. Samson, feel free to update us here when you get a chance.

Silk Videos posts WMV versions of its videos on T.P.A.P. for those who do not wish to install the divx codec and cannot therefore view avi files. If there are members here who fall into that category, until T.P.A.P. gets back up and running, email me and I will do what I can to get you WMV's of the Bluestone videos.

Other producers are free to post on this thread, whether you are permitted advertisers or not, in order to update your T.P.A.P. customers on your situation.

This is very sad news of course. While it was not my main source of revenue, I was quite dependent on it.

I believe that it was another billing sites stupidity and greed that caused this problem. I will not mention the sites name, but considering that it is NOT TPAP or NC, you can probably guess. This site, which launched in December of 2008 and quickly went around soliciting producers touted itself as soon to be the best choice...blah, blah blah. However, they had no idea of the 12 year history of what TPAP now and it it's former incarnation had gone through to keep billing options open for producers.

So, I suspect their blatant advertising on regular porn link sites, and seeking out search engine hits and their general lack of organization, disgression or care other then opening as many stores with as much content as possible, put the wrong spotlight on the ebiller and as a result, all sites with associated content were screwed.

I could be wrong, but considering this very site took down or lost their domain the same day as TPAP lost their ebiller, by guess is, they took what they could and got out of dodge. If it is true, shame on them.

In any case, I hope TPAP gets back up quickly as a lot of producers and their families are dependent on that income.

Thanks,
JohnM

I believe Sampson said he wants to be honest to the biller as to the material sold. If so the biller may take it, there are always some that want a quick buck until caught but they will get caught. I see that it would would be up for a few months or maybe a year then shut down again - at some point black listed. I would recommend a creative way to work around the issue and best discussed on the Pay Webmasters Forum.

This site is on the 'Mail on Sunday's' hit list and they seem to not stop shutting down their targets.

JohnM,

It sounds from the posts on the Pay Webmasters Forum, it is as you posted above - the people running that site and had no idea what they were getting into with credit cards getting the attention of Visa Investigators finding the content prohibited which lead to the loss of several sites. Sampson is on top of it and if help is needed I will do what I can.

Sad yet predictable news

I am inclined to agree with Dennis on this subject.
