Great News! I'm Back in the Custom Market!

A basic custom with PKF Studios costs $300. I recently asked John what his definition of a $300 custom is because, at that rate, I could finance one every three months or so. The only two I've done with him so far were just over $600 each and based on highly detailed screenplays using industry standard formatting. He told me that I would need to be willing to relinquish some control of the creative process and let him do his thing based on what he knows I like. I would also need to limit my casting choices to local models because porn stars are more expensive. In other words (mine), I need to stop being a backseat Director so he can spend more time shooting and less time referring back to my scripts.

I drafted this template as an example of what I understood he was telling me:

---
I'd like to see so-and-so play a Realtor hard at work on her computer in her home office when she's surprised from behind and strangled to death with a thin piece of rope by a serial killer while kept pinned to her office chair. Once dead, the killer lays her on the floor, undresses her and fondles her naked corpse, paying especially close attention to her feet.

Wardrobe Musts:

Victim - Knee-length pencil skirt and blouse, barefoot wearing white or nude sheer stockings. I also want the model wearing full makeup with red lipstick and red nail polish (fingers and toes)
Killer - Dressed in black, wearing a balaclava and latex gloves

Video Musts:

LOTS of close-ups of the model's feet pointing hard as she struggles to maintain her footing during the attack.
---

John's response: Perfect!

My reply: Cool! I can do that. :) Could that kind of template also be applied to lift-up stranglings?

John: Yes

Me: Awesome!

So! I'm back in the custom market, will be working exclusively with PKF, and look forward to doing so for as long as he'll be producing and have me as a client. :)

I am not in that business, but a decent model would cost at least 300/day. Add the rest ( make up artist, costumer, some place to shoot it, props and camera, lights, sound and some post) even at 600 there is no money in it. Or am I wrong? How does the producer make a living?
